Playing God

A black hole appeared in the middle of nowhere and out of it came out a naked blue man. He looked around before a satisfied smile appeared on his face. Using his cosmic sense, he investigated his surrounding. His cosmic sense worked like those divine sense from cultivation worlds, only, he would be able to scan galaxies, timelines and even pocket dimensions if he wanted to.

"I'm literary in the middle of nowhere, that's good," he said to himself. He went into a lotus position before closing his eyes and started to meditate.

He had to know just how powerful he had become from before or if he had become a paper tiger. Thus, he dug deep into himself and started investigating. Time passed and soon, half a century had passed and he had not even moved a muscle. Around him were pieces of comets, meteors and even a ship that had crashed into him only to get annihilated. Be was an immovable for e unless he wanted to and now, his eyes opened wide.

"So that's it, huh? Basically I am an outerversal level being. This is great, I don't have to be afraid of some of the strongest beings in this universe," he chuckled. Just to flex his power, a planet appeared beneath him. It was barren, dry and dark.

He slowly put his feet onto the planet and a blue light suddenly spread from his toes, covered the entire planet in just seconds. The Mars sized planet was now suddenly covered with vegetation, mountains, rivers, lakes, hills, oceans and all others. He could see the entire planet and couldn't help but smile at himself.

In his previous life, humans had tried their best to play God calling it a scientific miracle but here he was about to make it a reality! First, he introduced oxygen, CO2 nitrogen and hydrogen. Then, he introduced microbials, carbon based, in large amounts. The microbials would absorb CO2 and release Oxygen. However, the catch was that as carbon based life forms in the presence of so much oxygen, they started to evolve.

Bruce realized that he would have to watch the entire evolution for billions of years before he got a satisfactory result so he used time control to speed up the rate. But, he had overlooked just how powerful his brain was. Even when the time was such that a minute elsewhere would be a thousand years in the planet, he was watching everything as if it was still normal!

He finally realized what Dr Manhattan was saying when he said he had experienced things so tiny they would have said not to have happened. He could see how the elements he had introduced were taking part in the evolution of the microbials he had made. He knew what each would evolve to from its simple form to its strongest! He realized he would read their atoms like one would read a book and like an author, he could change where the direction the book would go to!

Before he knew it, he had started doctoring the molecules of the microbials and soon, he had all sorts of creatures roaming the planet. From eldritch looking monstrosities to heavenly beauty angel like creatures. Each one of them had a stamp of his handiwork in their evolution and Bruce was feeling like he was on sugar rush. He erased them all from existence and started all over again.

This time, he made new elements and introduced the same microbials from before. He wanted to see just how much they would adapt. He also made the environment harsh, Apokalips would be paradise compared to this place. He saw how the microbials took longer to adapt to the elements before they started evolving. Just like how oxygen was the key to them evolving like crazy the first time, they chose an element they would rely on and used it as the building block.

Due to the harsh environment, the creatures they evolved into were even tougher than the previous ones. There were even a few that had become elementals after years of their ancestors suffering. Bruce was just enjoying this as his mind dissected everything. He realized that he might make a wonderful nature explorer at this rate as he watched a creature with sixteen eyes, wings made of bones, six pairs of legs and teeth as large as daggers get devoured by an earthworm like creature that that a huge mouth with rows of razor sharp teeth in it. A few more years went by in the planet before he erased it once again. He had his fill of his power trip and now it was time to do something about this universe.

Due to his power, he could feel just how the entire universe was made up. There was a power that was like his nemesis, a power that was been held at bay a greater power that even he himself felt surrounded him, the power of Fate! He looked down at his body and could see golden chains surrounding him, chains of Fate! Basically, fate is what governs the entire universe and only the truly powerful beings could escape its influence. He shook his head before he concentrated his full might onto the chains.

"This might sound cliche but I decide my own fate," he said, concentrating to his best. Suddenly, the sound of something cracking revebrated all across the universe, startling every being with enough power to have cosmic sense. They could feel that something had stirred somewhere and it was powerful. Dr Manhattan looked up into space and couldn't help but smile. He was the most familiar with that power, a power belonging to someone he might call his brother.

"This should be enough for now," Bruce said as he looked at the cracked chains of Fate. His body then disappeared in a cloud of lightning and just then, a man appeared at the place he was. He had two pure white wings behind him and in his left hand was a traditional looking horn.

"Who are you?" he asked, looking space, seeing the cloud of lightning crossing the macroverse into another.
