156 Chapter 9: Swan, Colorful Demo
It's a few minutes before the demonstration and Chiho still didn't come back.
"Where is she?" Ando began to freak out
"I'll do it until Ms.Komura comes back" Sawa said.
"What? You will?" Henmi said with a surprised face 'but, you left the entire thing to Ms.Komura, no one knows it better than her'
Oshima and Yone arrived at that moment.
"How have you been?" the women lightly touched Sawa's back.
"Good Ms.Oshima"
"This new employee, who is doing this demonstration. Where is she?"
"…"
"…"
"…"
The three where silent. While, Sawa had a sad expression. Oshima frowned and put on a serious expression.
"She is not. Here is she?"
"Their will be nothing to worry about. Ms.Oshima I'll handle it. How company will not lose face I promise."
After a moment of silence Oshima and Yone sat down and awaited the demonstration.
"Hello, my name is Nishioka Sawa. Ms. Komura who was supposed to lead today will be unable to due to personal reasons."
Takashi walked in as Sawa began and frowned when he learned that his wife wasn't here. And she annoyingly bugged all this morning to attended.
"So, I thank you for attending" Sawa bowed. And the Claps of her audience began then stopped
"First, let me introduce you to the model who will help me with this demo today. Ma'am would you please come forward."
A woman from the audience walked up with her child and sat in the demonstration chair along with her child.
"Can I ask the reason why you requested for make-up today?" Sawa asked her
Watari Sei gazed at her daughter lovingly before looking back up at the audience. "I gained weight after having a baby, because of that I my self-confidence took a blow giving me postpartum depression." She thought to herself as her marriage went stale.
Although her husband wasn't cheating on her, he hasn't looked at her the same way. She didn't want to stay this way so a friend of hers recommended her to a make-up demonstration, she was told it will greatly boost her confidence. Since the golden lady was going to do. So, she put her name on the draw.
And what do you know she won, she actually got selected. But she was a bit disappointed that the golden lady herself wasn't able to do her make-up. But, you know she was happy enough to even be here. But…..
"I want to become pretty, even if its just a little" Sei finally said honestly. It seems that that honesty reached the audience.
"Thank you," Sawa said to the women before turning her head to the audience.
"Why do you put on make-up? To me as I stand it feels like I am having a conversation with myself, and I go Sawa FIGHTING?" she says with passion making the audience laugh.
"Make-up has always encouraged me, even when a day hard. Why because to me it tells me to live, proudly, to live confidently and most importantly it treated my wounded heart. It tells me That I am no longer that week person anymore"
"My guest did an amazing work of giving birth and becoming a mom. Even if she lost her confidence as a woman. So, for her I'd like for her I'd present 'Healing' Make-up."
"Its not the kind of Make-up to cover and hide something. True Make-up makes you love you precious self"
Sawa began to pick up her materials as she continued.
"For a make-up to feel moist, gorgeous and look like a watercolor painting, start with basic make-up and then follow with subtle colors"
Sawa rubs a light cooling cream, it wasn't in large doses and it gave the Sei a wonderful feeling.
"Apply concealer with your ring finger to the spots that need it most. For most women, this is under the eye, in the hollow sockets on the inside of the eye, along the nose, and on the chin."
"Blend in by patting—never rubbing—the concealer. If you like, you can use a concealer brush to apply concealer. You may find that it works better than your finger to get into some of the tight spots that need it most"
"Apply a tinted moisturizer or foundation to your face, making sure to blend along the jawline so you don't have a tell-tale line. A foam sponge works great for this task.
"Very few people need to actually apply foundation all over the face. Simply apply it where you have uneven skin tone, usually along your nose. In wintertime, if your cheeks tend to get ruddy, apply it there as well. For more sheer, natural coverage, consider a tinted moisturizer, which goes on much lighter than typical foundations"
Sei had her eyes closed the whole time, for some reason she couldn't open them, not that there was anything wrong, but it just felt so comfortable. Her fingers where like magic.
Sawa stood off to the side so the audience could see as she applied the make-up.
"Blush is an essential makeup item that can give you a pretty, youthful glow. However, it can be challenging to know exactly how to make it look the best on your unique face. Use the right application methods, apply in areas that best complement your face, and choose a color and texture that work well for your skin to make your blush look fantastic."
She Lightly swept the brush through a powdered blush she tapped it to remove any excess. Then lightly applied it to her cheeks.
"Just as there are many ways to apply eyeliner, you can experiment with different eyeshadow looks as well. For a basic eye, simply apply a base shade on the lid of the eye and add a darker contouring shadow in the crease. Make sure to blend it all in well."
"Apply mascara by wiggling the wand from the roots of your lashes on through to the ends. Do it twice for a touch more drama."
"Once you have your face made up, you can see exactly what type of lip treatment you need. You can either fill in your lips with lip liner and apply lip balm or gloss over it, or you can line the lips first then apply lipstick. Some women opt for just gloss or balm, especially if they are playing up their eyes."
It only took a few minutes to do all this, but the result was breathtaking. The audience looked in awe at Sei who originally decent looks had become instantly prettier with a simple stroke.
Sawa gave Sei a mirror "What do you think?"
For a moment Sei said nothing as she looked at herself in a mirror, her shocked expression made everything more dramatic. As the women's eyes glistened.
"Lady your hands are magic" the little girl suddenly said. Drawing Sei's attention to her daughter
"Haha, are they?" Sawa said to her.
"My mommy became pretty in an instant"
Sawa giggled along with the little girl made the audience feel heartfelt.
"Of course, the best make-up is not Cosmetics but the smile they bring to her face. SO, what do you say everyone? Is our model not beautiful."
Clapping began
"My mommy is beautiful" the little girl sad proudly making the audience incredibly happy
"Make-up is not for others, but yourself. You're happy with just lipstick. We're all beautiful women if we smile even without make-up.
This ends my demonstration."
Henmi handed Sawa a colorful gifted bag. Which she in turned handed to Sei. Who bowed with glistened tears and headed home her daughter tightly holding her hand. To her husband.
"That was wonderful" Oshima began to clap "You always seem to amaze."
"I thought My wife was leading the demo, so what happened?" Takashi interrupted abruptly as he stared intently as Sawa.
"She must have had some kind of emergency" Oshima said looking at Takashi not happy with the interruption. "It was such an important event and even reporters where here. Ah! They must be in the back to waiting for you. Sawa why wont you go answer some questions for them."
"Yes, Ms.Oshima" Sawa smiled before walking away.
"You are.." Takashi started
"I am the CEO of May's Cosmetics"
