113 Chapter 5: Winter, Hospital visit and Invitation to Dinner

Rose sits in the elegant interior of Saint Generals hospital. Winter is in her arms giggling because she is lightly tickling him, gently

"They should have been here by now," said Coney nervous and Impatient while pacing back and forth.

"A woman should be patient. Just Wait!" said David irritably "And sit down watching you is irritating."

"Sorry," She said sitting down sighing.

"Excuse me. Are you the Ross's?". They turned toward the women.

"Yes," Coney responded, "We are."

"And you are," said David

"I'm the secretary of Mr. Connell's, Mrs. Hon" Coney looked behind her

"Where Is Anthony?" she asked

"Unfortunately, Anthony couldn't be here today."

"Oh" Coney and David responded.

"But don't worry I have the sample we will use for the test" she heads up a plastic bag with hair in it

"Now, the room were need to go to is down the hall" she then lead the way. David and Coney go ahead

"I'm surprised I didn't think you would sho,w," Mrs. Han says to Rose

"Is that so."

"your parents have motives in this"

"It's obvious isn't it."

"very" was the last thing Mrs. Han said before they enter the room. Awhile later they left the room.

"Mr. Connell's has invited your family to dinner," said Mrs. Han

"Really," both Coney and David said simultaneously. They excitedly walked fast outward the hospital exit as Rose bows slightly to Mrs. Han and hurriedly follows David and Coney out.

In Griffin's office later, that day. Knock, Knock

"I'm back sir," said Mrs. Han

"How was it"

"They showed. The results should be in by 9". Mr. Griffin nodded in response

"So, what was she like."

"She's not in for greed. And I don't think she cares about the test either" she paused "What will you do if he really is Anthony's child?"

"I'll decide what to do. If it is actually true."

The Door opens again, and Anna appears unpleased.

"Must you really invite those people?" said Anna upset

"Inviting them will do no wrong." Griffin responded unmoved and uncaring of her opinion.

"Anthony's not coming" Anise's voice appears through the half-opened door. "he said there's no reason to take a ridiculous claim seriously."

"See even Anthony."

"Is that all? "he said ignoring Anna. Anise nodded in response before she left carrying on her business. With that Anna left with her arms folded.

The day transients by as the only noise heard is that of the servants making dinner and preparing the table. Finally, the elegant china plates are filled with a fine meal with a pleasing aromatic smell. The Connells and Ross are finally seated but, eating in an awkward silence that is erupted by Winter's constant giggling.

"Rose aren't you going to eat," said Jake whispering so no one but Rose hears.

"I was," said Rose tickling Winter again

"No, you Aren't," he said, and she just smiled while playing with Winter. The noise irritated Anna, but she held back saying nothing. As her daughter Anise eats her food like a goblin but not forgetting her manners. David goes just the opposite but tries not to make any noise. While Coney is conflicted as to which soon, she should use to eat her soup with. Jake stares at Rose until she takes a spoon of soup in her mouth. He smiles satisfied before eating his own meal. Griffin can't help but keep his eyes on Winter seeing resemblances to Anthony from him. It was about after a quarter after 9 when

Mrs. Han walked in, and dinner was finished.

"The results sir," said Mrs. Han

"So, what are they," he said. David, Coney, and Anna had confident smiles as. Rose who was still playing with Winter was joined in by Jake after he was done.

"It is not a match."

"What?" David and Coney went not believing what they heard. Opposite to them Jake, Rose, and Anise don't seem to care. Anna is delighted.

Griffin was surprised before getting himself lost in thought.

"But that can't be? We're sure Anthony's the father" said Coney stilled shocked

"Did something go wrong with the test" David trying to be calm

"The test is very accurate, and it may be the mother who is confused,"

Anna said glaring at Rose still annoyed from Winter's earlier noise. Jake who saw the tension whispered to him "I think we should leave before Dad explodes" Coney nodded in agreement
