Prologue

Odara is an evil god, the twin brother of Ogun who was banished from the heavenly realm-the Astral world-to earth, the human world. His powers were taken from him and he was made a common immortal who roams the surface of the earth who no aim or purpose. Obatala, the president of the Astral world never thought Odara could regain his powers back and use it to terrorize humans.

Erujeje is a greedy and corrupt chief priest of Irepodun village, he encountered Odara on his way back from a long journey one day and he helped Odara regain his powers after he was promised by the god that he will make him the king of his village. Erujeje brought Odara to Irepodun village after he killed the king and forcefully made himself the king, the god enslaved the people of Irepodun and became their worst nightmare.

AT THE HEAVENLY REALM (THE ASTRAL WORLD).

The gods and goddesses of are all seated around a long golden table, they have all been summoned by the president of the Astral world, Obatala. Even though Obatala is the president of the Astral world, there is still someone who is hundred times more powerful than him, he is the creator of all heaven and earth and all that is in it, including man and the gods. He is called The Lord of Heaven, Eledunmare (God), the supreme being. He is an invincible and omniscient being whose existence is greatly felt but whom no being has ever seen not even the gods.

After they have all settled down, Obatala joined them in his shining white robe, all the gods and goddesses stand up and bow to him in respect before he takes his seat at the head of the table.

"Have your seat." His authoritative voice booms and they all sit down.

"Obatala Obatasha Obatakun-takun." Sango praises, as he speaks fire comes out of his mouth. "We hope there is no problem that you have summoned us all here."

The gods and goddesses nod in agreement.

"Daylight does not endure beyond its usual time, night does not last beyond its regular limit and darkness does not continue beyond what is customary. It is time we stop Odara, the twin brother of Ogun. He is biting more than he can chew and it is a must he chokes on it." Obatala speaks in parables but is well understood by his subjects.

"Yes, we should no longer procrastinate. The cries of suffering from the humans he terrorizes is about to block my eardrums, I can no longer condone this." Oduduwa says as he gnashes his teeth in anger.

"Talo gun yan fun Erujeje toni tobe o soro? (Who empowered Erujeje?) How dare that stupid priest help Odara regain his powers after we took it from him? What insolence!" Esu, always the hotheaded one roars furiously.

"Let us all calm down please, it is the solution to this issue we should be looking for now." Osun the most calm and collected one among them speaks up softly.

"We never thought Odara would somehow pose as danger to the humans since we already took his powers." Oya says remorsefully.

"Hmm." Obatala sighs as he take a sip a water from the glass cup in front of him.

"Obatala, if only you can give me the chance to go to earth. I shall fight my twin brother, Odara and I shall conquer. I will make sure I either destroy him or bundle him back here." Ogun finally says.

"Let us not forget that Ifa prophesied that a human, a girl shall defeat Odara." Osun reminds them.

"Yes, Yes...I remember." Egun exclaims.

"This girl I was referring to..." Ifa started. "...is about to be born."

"So are you saying that we should fold our hands and watch Odara terrorize the humans till this girl we are talking about fulfills the prophecy?" Ogun argues.

"This is what will be done." Obatala announces and everywhere became silent as all the gods tensely wait for him to speak up. "Ogun, Osun and Esu, the three of you will go to the human world, not to fight Odara but to protect this girl the prophecy is talking about. Odara must not find out about her existence or he will try everything he can to get rid of her so that the prophecy will not be fulfilled."

"As you have said, so shall it be done." The three gods bow in obedience.

"Esu, as the messenger, you shall keep me informed about the progress of the mission."

"Yes boss. I shall always send a mall across to you." Esu nods. "Humans, here I come." He says with a smirk and a hysterical laughter.
