Endbanner: Would you look at that, I'm back! (LOL) I learned a lot from my previous works and a lot of your reviews (comments) helped me a ton. So, here I am, presenting you with TON (The Ordinary Ninja), hoping and working to not make the same mistakes again. If you are wondering why each chapter is short, that's thanks to my work! (I barely have time to sleep, urghhh) It also one of the reasons why I had to stop worrying a few months ago. The weak obey the strong and kneel for the powerful. That had been the cold reality since the beginning of dawn, and it has yet to change. Because even if someone is weak, he can still be powerful.

CAW! CAW! CAW!

The battlefield was littered with wood splinters and uprooted soil. Blood was splattered everywhere along with chunks of human flesh. Standing at the edge of it all was a lone man looking up at the gloomy sky.

The man had long hair that swayed behind him, and although his cloak was untouched, it was drenched with sweat.

"It's been a while since I experienced the thrill of a battle," Itachi said, his eyes, void of the mark of the Sharingan, stared tiredly at the gray clouds. "And I've been reminded why I fight. I want peace, so that these battles can stop."

Drop… Drop… SHAAAAA…

Now drenched in the rain, Itachi looked down at his hands.

"But the peace I wish to achieve is merely an illusion. Just like Tsukoyomi," Itachi's eyes shifted into his Sharingan, before his Sharingan spun to form the infamous Mangekyou Sharingan. The crimson of his Mangekyou Sharingan couldn't be more vibrant, and the pattern inscribed in each of his eyes couldn't be clearer.

Itachi moved his fingers to his eyes, covering his vision and entering his own realm of illusion, the world of Tsukoyomi, a world where everything he wishes comes true.

"How does one turn an illusion into a reality?"

Despite his eyes becoming stronger and stronger, he couldn't affect the physical world through them.

SHIFT!

Itachi blinked, caught by surprise at the change in his world. The world where he had absolute control over had changed… without his permission.

'No, it was just my subconscious showing me the answer to my question,' Itachi calmly deduced.

Before, he was looking at a world of bloodshed. A world where the blood had tainted the sky.

Now, he was looking at a peaceful world, a world where everyone lived like a single big family.

"That's right, the only way to achieve absolute peace," Itachi looked at the sky where a figure was floating majestically. "It is to become the absolute God."

"We escaped, but Gray Wind is dead," Fang reported to me. I nodded, already knowing that this was the case.

"Fang," I said as I looked over to Fang. "After catching the Evil Spirit, what will you do next?"

I asked this because I myself had no idea what I would do next.

Fang looked at me for a second before answering. As he gave his answer, he gazed into the dark clouds looming above them. "I will buy a stronger sword and hunt a stronger foe. I will repeat it until I die, that's the way I live. May I ask, how do you live, Sir Ghost?"

Drop…

As his question hit my ears, a downpour began. Strangely though, the noise of the rain silenced my whole world.

'I… will keep training? What for?'

I didn't particularly seek vengeance actively. If I could, then I would, but if not, then I'll let hatred be.

'Then, do I want to be the strongest?'

Yes, but that's everyone's dream. Everyone wants to perfect and master their craft, but what about me? What craft do I wish to master?

'Is it kenjutsu, or is it genjutsu? Maybe it's ninjutsu, or even taijutsu.'

No, it's none of the above.

'My goal is not to master any particular field of ninja arts. My goal...'

"What is it?"

Do I seek answers from Itachi? Yes, but that was from a year and a half ago. I already dropped my ties with him into the bonfire along with my useless, empty saya.

"Sir Ghost?" Fang asked. There was a slight worry in his voice, I wouldn't have heard it if not for my improved senses.

"I am a bored man who views the world as entertainment. I am a bored man who is still alive because he is not yet dead."

Mamoru said, touching his mask and shifting it a little.

'A bored man without a goal, simply watching by the sidelines. That suits me the best, I suppose. An ordinary man amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of things, after all.'
