/"We are madly in love, indeed/" I finished the sentence with a sugary smile, which to Cleo just gave me a knowing smirk. I didn't mind that he didn't believe me, he wasn't stupid enough to do so, and I just had to accept that. I won't break my back to prove something so unimportant, the wedding will go through anyway.

My eyes kept searching the crowd, paranoid to find faces I know too well, and though I thought I was sneaky, Cleo quickly caught onto it:
