Juri patted him on the shoulders as she grinned at him maniacally. "Time to train."
"This isn't training at all though!?" He said as he proceeded to move towards the stone stairs that lead upwards.
He approached an undead skeleton. He dodged it's slow strikes and he punched it on the head. it's skeletal head flew off as its body dropped on the ground. He immediately picked up a rusted sword and dilapidated wooden shield.
As he approached another undead several arrows flew towards his direction. He tried to block it with his wooden shield but was hit by the barrage of arrows that came his way. He grit his teeth from the pain. He couldn't help himself from screaming out loud until he could no longer withstand the undead onslaught.
[YOU DIED]
A screen appeared in front of his eyes in bold red letters as his consciousness faded. A few seconds later he stood up. He looked around and saw Juri peacefully eating her snacks. "Damn even death here's pretty realistic huh? I could hear your screams from here." She said calmly. Yamato on the other hand was shaking. "Is that what it feels like to die?" Juri shrugged her shoulders. "Dunno."
Yamato sat down near Juri, "Fuck... That was scary." He sighed as he stared at the flames on the bonfire. Juri sighed, "You won't get anywhere if you keep dawdling." She pushed him with her foot. "Now go!" She said with great interest. However this time she stood up with him this time. "I'm gonna observe from the background."
Yamato nodded his head. She tilted her head as she observed Yamato. "I don't sense any power from him. Sure he's in good shape but it's nothing to write home about. Is he pretending or is he truly that weak?" She thought as she walked across the stone steps.
Yamato then hugged the wall as he waited for the first unded to pass by. The moment it did he slashed downwards and cutting the skeleton in half. He picked up another shield and tossed it upwards the stairs.
The moment he did a barrage of arrows pierced the wooden shield. He carefully picked up the battered shield and whilst still hugging the wall of the stairs tossed it upwards once more. This time however there were no arrows that shot it.
The moment the wooden shield dropped on the stairs he dashed forth and closed the gap towards the nearest undead and he slashed downwards. While this was happening Juri was observing Yamato. "Damn, he wasn't acting. He moves like an amateur. His dodges on the other hand is masterful."
Yamato on the other hand was slowly being surrounded by the horde. He was nimbly dodging all the attacks that came his way, however there was hesitation on his blade. Much to the dismay of Juri.
"Tsk! How long are you gonna keep me waiting boy? This isn't interesting at all." Juri spoke as she sighed while leaning on her palm. She watched the boy struggle with his life with an empty gaze.
"Uhhh... Well it seems I'm a little preoccupied dodging here..." He said as he avoided the strike that would cut off a mans head with a single strike. The woman clicked her tongue once more, "Can you even call this training? It's boooorrrring me to deaath!" She said as she yawned and took a lollipop from her pocket as she ignored the clashing of blades while browsing on her phone. She thought to herself, "Why the hell did A.R. choose him along with us then?"
All of a sudden a screen popped in front of her eyes.
[Good Question Juri Han. I didn't choose him for his power. I chose him for his potential. Just like you. Your current self maybe strong enough to survive in Metro City, but I believe a prodigy such as yourself could reach even greater heights.]
She scoffed, "Lay off me, wouldja?" She whispered as she observed Yamato once more.
"This isn't training at all though!? I'm fighting for my life here!" He said yelling at Juri. She on the other hand sighed extremely bored. However their conversation proved to be a detriment to the boy as it took all of his concentration to fend off all the attacks. His blade was shattered from the clash. His wooden shield was grabbed and thrown away on the side.
Although without any weapon what so ever the boy managed to avoid the attacks that came at him. His school uniform had torn and grown ragged from the skeletal onslaught. The boy gained some distance from the shambling skeletons.
He stared behind him to see Juri taunting him with a smile. He sighed, "Fuck it then! Arachnid!" He said as he snapped his fingers. A purple light enveloped his right hand as thin chains slowly dropped down creating a mettalic thud across the stone slabs.
He could feel the chains were brimming with power. He started with using the chains as a whip, using the sharp edges as a long range blade to cull his opponents. However it was instantly grabbed by the skeletons as he was pulled towards them.
He recieved a punch on his face making him step back a few steps. He wiped his bloodied nose and glared at his opponents. Juri opened her eyes wide, "OH! Look's like the kid's got something up his sleeve after all." She chuckled as she watched him struggle with mild interest.
Yamato gained a slightly reckless idea. "I could use this chains to bind these skeletons." He said as he waved his hands multiple times as he ran past the skeletons binding them in place. He was surprised on how easy it was. Like it was second nature to him. Juri smiled, "Well would you look at that. Kid's got balls after all."
He then closed the gap between him and the bound skeletons as he picked up one of the blades dropped by them and started hacking away shattering them into pieces. After the gueling battle he wiped the sweat from his brows and turned towards the woman who was laughing while staring at her phone. "How was it?"
Juri smiled maniacally, "Boring, uninteresting, and utterly weak." However she thought to herself, "Not bad for a newbie. A little reckless, but that's just my style! Although... A little stupid. You gotta check if they're down for good." She browsed her phone surprised that she has internet access. She then typed, "How to train a complete newbie in Taekwondo."
Yamato however laughed and scratched his cheeks while smiling wryly. "You didn't even look at it." He said while sighing and sitting next to her dead tired. Juri gave him the side eye and and smirked, "You didn't even bother to see if the job's done." She said as she slowly stood up while stretching her body. She stared at the pile of bones scattered on the stone floor as they slowly rattled and combined again forming a gigantic skeleton. It's eyes shone a menacing red yet the woman was unfazed. She was laughing maniacally as she stared at the screen that popped in front of her.
