James

Jay was finally awake, it was like a tractor had been lifted from James's chest. He'd never seen someone tank their energy that far, and he low key had a love hate relationship with it. He loved that Jay had cared so much about him as to almost die himself, but he hated that Jay had to almost kill himself to save James.

I must get stronger, thought James. In the future I will save you a million times and become strong enough that you never have to worry about me again. Then we can get married and adopt five kids. But hey, baby steps first.

Oh it felt so good for all the loose ends to be tied up. Jay was safe, the snake was gone, the city was safe again, the cult had fallen apart without its mind controlled snake problem. Everything was perfect again. And as an added bonus he could watch Jay sleep more without being worried that he wouldn't wake up.

Well since he was sleeping for like two hours then awake for like five hours, James should totally take a little advantage of it. He slipped over to the motel bed which they still had for the time being, even though their homes were again safe. Jay was so cute, but he had to be careful not to wake him up.

He slid over the covers and under the blankets. Sleeping next to Jay, oh totally the best thing ever. He had gotten to a little during their stay at the fancy house, but he could totally love doing this for the rest of his life.

"I don't know if we should be doing this" mumbled a voice, and James looked over in shock. Jay was awake and was looking a bit worried. His eyes gave him away with how he kept looking at James's zipper.

"No, no, of course not." Said James immediately, as much as he might want to, he would not risk his friendship with Jay.

To his surprise Jay leaned up and kissed him, "slow down, this is as fast as I can manage to start a relationship." He mumbled then buried his face in a pillow while James froze unable to move.

Jay had kissed him, again. Surely this was a sign. Slowly... slowly was painful but he could work with that. "Does this mean you want to start a relationship." He asked hesitantly.

"I don't want to lose you" Jay replied.

"Uh so…"

"Yes, it means I'll give it a try since you can't keep your eyes off me." Jay muttered his face still in the pillow but even his ears had started turning a little red.

James was at a loss for words, when had this changed? Last he checked Jay was set against relationships. He licked his lips slightly nervous as he lay back down and wrapped one arm over Jay.

His heart nearly burst out of his chest when Jay snuggled up against him and let him wrap him up in his arms. Jay's hands gently grabbed James's arms in front of him and held him as well.

James never wanted the moment to end, he felt like he could fly to the moon and back or even the edge of the universe. Jay was perfect, the moment was perfect. He gently kissed the back of his neck and Jay flinched a little.

James didn't push it further than that but he kissed the back of his neck a few times and sucked on one spot for a little bit. Jay might need a scarf tomorrow, but that was tomorrow's problem. He gently nibbled on his ear making him flinch a little. So cute, even when he flinched it was adorable.

Thoughts crossed his mind that made him blush. Nope not yet, tiny steps, today was a light dose of nibbling. Tomorrow he might move down his back just a little. Maybe in a week he'd start on Jay's front. This is totally what baby steps meant right? Oh it would be so easy to just spend the entire night nibbling on Jay. Nope back to just a hug, this was enough for the first time.... Gosh darn it show some self control James! His mentally chided himself. All he wanted was Jay... in every way shape and form.

When he fell asleep everything was perfect.

The next morning when he woke up Jay was already awake and watching him this time.

"Good morning" Jay said a little awkwardly.

"Good morning" replied James with a smile.

"So um how'd you sleep?" asked Jay.

"Good, you?" James replied a little awkwardly. This attitude made him want to laugh; Jay hadn't been in a relationship before that he knew of anyway. This awkwardness was adorable.

"Also good."

James wrapped him up in his arms. Far too cute. "Even your awkwardness is adorable" he murmured into Jay's ear causing him to turn red.

"I'm going to um fetch some breakfast." Jay said immediately rising to his feet. He left the room paused at the door and came back for a quick second standing next to James.

"Hmm?" asked James looking at him.

He turned toward him and pecked him on the lips before leaving even more red colored than before.

James couldn't stop smiling. Maybe when he came back with breakfast they could feed each other, or snuggle some more. As long as it involved Jay he'd do anything.

He was taking quite awhile to return though, wasn't the breakfast area just down the stairs? Shoot don't tell me he got so embarrassed he ran and hid? Maybe I pushed it too fast.....

Feeling a bit worried James pulled out his phone and looked up Jay's GPS tracker. It was moving away from the building at the speed of a car..... was he really that embarrassed? Or could it be something else. James worry grew watching the dot. Time to follow him.
