CH 9: Hunting a Bloodthirsty Tiger

<Look, before we get to the chapter, I just wanted to say something. Don't complain about Gu Yuena being op, alright? It's not my fault that her martial soul is literally 1st Class God and nearly God King Class! She's like an MC of her own!>

As Ali dodged the Bloodthirsty Tiger's vicious teeth, he jumped on its back and slashed its neck and head multiple times. However, a pair of simple daggers couldn't penetrate its thick fur at all, they only managed to annoy it.

"ROOOAAARRR!" The giant tiger roared in anger and annoyance as it freed its paw with force and tried to slash at Ali. He quickly dodged, but the claws still managed to graze his arm as he jumped away.

Ali winced at the sting as he got ready for action again, but he was taken aback by the sudden bloodlust that made the Bloodthirsty Tiger freeze in place. As Ali gulped, he turned to see it was Gu Yuena gritting her teeth and glaring at the giant tiger :"You little ant, you dare to harm him?!?!!?"

And that was all she said before she gave the poor Bloodthirsty Tiger the beating of its life time. Ali actually felt a little sorry for the poor guy because of how it was getting manhandled by Gu Yuena's superb elemental manipulation :'Well, she IS a dragon in the end...'

After a little while of Ali just standing aside and praying for the poor tiger's suffering to end quickly, Gu Yuena finally had enough as the Bloodthirsty Tiger laid on the ground, twitching while foam was coming out of its mouth.

Gu Yuena turned to Ali and walked towards him before gently grabbing his hand and looking at his arm with a worried face :"Is your arm okay? Does it hurt?" Causing Ali to shake his head with a light chuckle :"It's okay, it's just a scratch anyway. After a little while, not even a scratch will be left."

"Mhm..." Gu Yuena nodded with a slightly sad look :"I'm sorry, if it wasn't for me being careless, you wouldn't have gotten hurt. I had promised you that I would protect you." Ali felt a little warm inside, but he immediately put his other hand over hers with a dead serious but also neutral face :"Don't be.

I'm not trying to comfort you here, but I'm dead serious. I'm a person who likes fighting and am not afraid of getting injured. So with you having this kind of reaction to a simple scratch, you might have a heart attack someday."

Gu Yuena was a little speechless as she looked at him with her same almost emotionless face :"... Aren't you supposed to say that you won't put yourself in danger again so I won't need to worry?"

Somehow, it was funny how the two looked at each other with faces that didn't show any emotions, but they could still understand each other's faces. Ali shook his head with the same neutral face :"Do I look like that kind of sweet person?

I love fighting, and I won't stop loving it no matter who says that I should. Not just you, but I won't listen to anybody when it comes to things that I love, so don't feel bad. I will be absorbing the Bloodthirsty Tiger's soul ring after killing it now, so please be on standby."

Ali walked towards the tiger and stabbed its eye and brain through it, the Bloodthirsty Tiger's died and its yellow soul rose from its corpse. While he sat down and began to absorb it according to his knowledge that he got from Yu Xiaogang, Gu Yuena put her hand under her chin with a thoughtful look :'But Bi Ji (Emerald Swan, 4th in the Top Ten Fierce Beasts) had told me that would work???'

As Ali sat cross legged, he released his Omnitrix martial soul before concentrating on it and pulling the yellow, century soul ring towards it. The yellow soul ring floated towards him before slowly descending around him and then shrank around him.

As the hot soul power poured into his body like a violent wave, Ali's body began to tremble as he started absorbing all the soul power into him. The soul power was violent, and seemed to be angry, probably because of the violent nature of the Bloodthirsty Tiger and because of its resentment towards Ali and Gu Yuena.

It probably wanted to take down Ali with it as well since it was already dead. However, the soul power was immediately calmed down when the growls and killing intent of Ali's aliens in his Omnitrix was directed at the soul power. The aliens may be locked and not have a life of their own, but since they were like the unconscious part of Ali, they would still react if something attacked from the inside.

Ali didn't notice it, but Gu Yuena did, when a green light came out of the Omnitrix and mixed into the soul ring, as if changing it. After the aliens in Omnitrix dealt with the soul power, Ali no longer had any hard time and just had to absorb the huge energy while Gu Yuena kept watch.

And after a few hours of absorbing it calmly, Ali finally succeeded and gently opened his eyes. As his eyes opened, a wave of soul power escaped him as he sighed comfortably at the new feeling of power coursing through every corner of his body.

He looked down at the soul ring floating with him in the center with fondness, but when he saw the soul ring, his body froze :"... ... ... HUH?!!?" He knew that the Bloodthirsty Tiger was a century year old soul beast, 430 years old specifically, so he of course expected to see a yellow, hundred years old soul ring.

But the soul ring around him wasn't yellow, meaning that it wasn't a century year old soul ring. It was purple, a millennium (1,000) year soul ring. As he looked at his soul ring with shock, he saw Gu Yuena through the corner of his eye :'Did... Is it her doing? But why???'

It seemed like Gu Yuena understood what he was thinking, so she pointed at Omnitrix on his wrist :"While you were absorbing the soul ring, a green light suddenly came out of your martial soul and changed the soul ring before going back inside the bracelet."

'It can do that?!!?' Ali looked at his Omnitrix with a speechless face before an idea popped up in his brain :'Can I scan my own martial soul?' So, he immediately tried it. And lo and behold, there was a screen with the Innate Abilities of the Omnitrix and one with "New" next to it:

Self-Growth: the Omnitrix will automatically increase the age of all of the wearer's soul rings to the absolute maximum amount the body can handle.

'So you're the culprit!' Ali roared in his mind before he sighed :'Oh well, why am I even complaining? I was just taken off guard, but it's a good thing since it means that my soul rings will be able to get stronger from now on. By the way, does it show what is the current age?' And fortunately for Ali, it was there:

'Hmm, it doesn't show anymore, probably to keep me entertained or to surprise me or something like that.' Ali nodded thoughtfully before Gu Yuena tilted her head and asked :"So what was that light?"

'Well, she's already seen it, and it's not something that I can keep as a secret anyway. Not like I would since I wanna show off <what a humble person>' Ali scratched his head before shrugging with a sigh :"Apparently, my martial soul has the ability to raise all of my soul rings' age as my body gets stronger. Something like an increase in their age everytime I level up."

But Gu Yuena didn't seem surprised or shocked, she just simply nodded calmly. Well, she was a god, and even though she is only half of Dragon God, she is still one of the, or THE oldest beings in this universe. Something like this wouldn't be much of a surprise for her.

Gu Yuena tilted her head with a thoughtful look, so Ali raised an eyebrow at her :"What are you thinking so intently about?" Gu Yuena hummed before looking at him :"If it can truly raise the age of "all" of your soul rings, then doesn't that mean that it can also raise the age of the soul rings of your other martial soul?"

"..." Ali was speechless as he looked at her with a neutral face :"... What are you talking about?" Gu Yuena tilted her head :"Don't you have another martial soul? An... Axe, is it? Specifically, a two handed battle axe?"

'Well, no privacy whatsoever.' Ali sighed as he curled his lips at her :"How do you know that I have a second martial soul?" 'Well, even though she is a human now, I wouldn't be surprised if she could sense it since she was a 1st Class God powerhouse before.'

"I just sensed it." Gu Yuena just shrugged with a neutral face as Ali rolled his eyes :"Right~." Before he put his hand under his chin and actually thought about it :'She does have a point though. The description says "all soul rings", not just the soul rings of the Omnitrix martial soul.

So does that mean that it can also raise the age of the Majestic Tyrant Axe's soul rings? Well, since this ability is already here, it would be weird if the Omniverse made it exclusive to only the Omnitrix. So, should I give it a try?

The reason why soul masters with twin martial souls have such a huge advantage is because they can just go with one martial soul to as far as they can, then add soul rings of decade millennium and century millennium years to their second soul rings instead of normal soul rings.

So since the age of my soul rings will get increased, there's just no point to not adding a soul ring to my Majestic Tyrant Axe. In fact, it would simply be plain stupid if I waited till I'm level 90 or something in this case.'

After thinking about it, Ali finally decided and got up as he nodded at Gu Yuena :"Alright, then will you please help me hunt a soul beast for my second martial soul, please?" And Gu Yuena immediately nodded with a smile as she got up from the tree that broke because of the Bloodthirsty Tiger.

"Hold on a second." Ali said before he stored the corpse of the giant tiger in the Omnitrix's Storage as Gu Yuena tilted her head :"It can even do that?" Ali nodded with a smirk :"Yeah, it's very useful, no? Let's get moving then."

Since absorbing the soul ring had taken quite a while, it had already become nighttime, so they had to be extra careful while walking. However, with Ali's Map, there wasn't any reason to worry. But he hadn't told her about it, because then she would find out that Ali knew about her being the Silver Dragon King since the Map shows the information in it.

While they walked and searched, with Ali paying close attention to his Map, Gu Yuena glanced at him :"What is your soul skill?" Ali just smirked smugly :"It's a surprise. Even though my martial soul is a bracelet, its soul skill is actually completely different from what you would think it does. Just wait, you will see it in a while."

Gu Yuena just nodded calmly as they continued on searching with Gu Yuena's light element lighting up the way for them. Even though most soul beasts would sleep at night, night was the hunting time of some other soul beasts. So Ali paid close attention to his Map while walking. After searching for a few more hours, they finally found a soul beast which was suitable for Majestic Tyrant Axe.
