Chapter 7:Tip of the Iceberg

We got to the living room to meet our parents and olivia stuffing their faces with snacks.

Out of anger Onyx yelled

" What is wrong with you people"

Hearing his voice they all turned to look at us .

"What are you implying by this tone son" my mother asked Onyx.

" I thought you said you would wait for Ondina outside" Onyx asked in anger.

" We were going to wait but we saw another group of those attackers coming we had to go" olivia shot back

" WOW,just amazing, if you have forgotten olivia, Ondina is your baby sister and you left her there to perish" onyx said

" Will you stop shouting at me for what I didn't do" olivia said scornfully. Saying this fueled onyx's anger in attempt to reprimand her he said " What is wrong...."

" Stop it both of you, we have a more pressing issue right now so I would like you to focus" my father said authoritatively. Onyx reluctantly sat down and so did I. Since no one was willing to talk I asked the question

"Who are those people"

"Obviously we don't know that"olivia answered

" Yes but all I can deduce is that another kingdom is trying to wage war against us"

Onyx concluded. Everyone went silent for a while and I had the urge to ask the question

" Which kingdom would have the guts to do that" . Everyone was still silent I guessed it was also confusing them.Onyx stood up abruptly "It is between kingdom A and kingdom c, it's so obvious,apart from being the country closest to ours they are also our rivals." Onyx explained.

"But why didn't they communicate with us about the war like any other country waging a war" John my father personal guard asked

" They wanted to catch us off gaurd" onyx said

"And it was well planned" I said absentmindedly

"What do you mean" my father asked

"Why did they plan the attack when the official and well trained soldiers of our kingdom went for the yearly training they have, obviously it was well planned and there must have been someone to give them the information too"

" So there must be a spy in the army" John asked no one in particular

" Not the army but in the administration" I replied. Everyone looked shocked and my father immediately retorted

" That's not possible all of my ministers are loyal to this kingdom"

"So you are saying that you are aware of what is going on in the minds of the ministers daily.

Not everyone is happy with your success" I asked pissed

" No" my dad answered

" We'll sort this out later but now let's focus on the pressing issue, how are we going to stop the havoc those people are creating in the palace" onyx said. Everyone went silent because no one had an idea on how to stop them. As we were still brainstorming some guards entered the room.

" Your Majesty the mercenaries have left, they left this note for you" one of the guards said.

Onyx took the letter and read it out, it read

" Well we just showed you the tip of the iceberg, we will be here again and then we'll take over completely.....
