Main character's parents must die

"Why do the main character's parents often get the short end of the stick?" That is what Mila asked while looking up at the sky. She was grumbling toward whoever sent her inside the novel she read before she died. She becomes the mother of the main character, whose parents are both dead. Mila's character was merely a tool for the MC's character development. It's a simple, fix-all solution. The author wanted to make the audience instantly sympathetic towards the main character, and the best thing he did was to have the MC's parents die. After she avoided her death in the original plot, death flags kept coming for her. Will the original plot not end if she's not dead? .... proofreader: Aserehtam

"I don't want to be her burden forever."

"You're always cold to me as if you're not my mother."

It is too late for Christopher to retract his word and just regret what he said on the spur of the moment.

What was odd was that the only thing Mila did after hearing Christopher's comment was heave a long, deep sigh. She then dialed on her phone number and spoke on speaker phone.

"Hey, Kim."

"Yes, madam."

"I'll be dining with my son at GYC restaurant. Picked up Robert there and take care of him for awhile. "

"R-Robert? the Knight's commander? your son? The Duke? Are they here as well?"

The voice on the other side of the call sounded excited, while Christopher and Robert were amazed at the magic tool Mila was using. They were curious about the tool and about who the person Mila was talking to, but they kept their mouth shut as they could feel the dark aura and irritation in Mila's mood.

"Did I allow you to get curious?"

"No, madam."
