Chapter 1 - A scholar no more. I want to be a playboy mwahaha!

In a small hospital in Tokyo, a child was lying alone on a bed. The nurses watched the baby with sadness in their eyes as he cried.

"Poor child." One said.

"So pitiful." Another commented.

"It must be crying for its mother." So said another nurse.

Had they been able to hear him though, they would have realized how wrong they were.

[WHAT THE FUCK! HOW AM I STILL ALIVE? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS PLACE? WHY AM I A FUCKING MIDGET!!!]

"This kid will have a difficult life, no doubts about that."

"Ah! Dr. Miyazaki!" The nurses bowed slightly as a man wearing a white coat approached the corridor next to the ward where the baby was.

"Do we have any info on the mother?"

"I'm sorry sir, we did our best, but she was probably a homeless person all her life, there are no documents or registers of her."

"What a shame..." The doctor sighed and lowered his head. "Call the Child Protection Program, let them solve this matter."

"Right away sir."

When the nurses and doctors left, a bald man with Buddhist attire stopped by the ward and looked a the newborn baby with some interest. "Is it him?" He scratched his jaw and thought for a moment before taking out a wooden effigy of a Buddha.

He chanted something and three the small effigy above before catching it in his eyes. When he grabbed it again, his eyes shone for a moment and he nodded. "Definitely, the child who is born with this unnatural amount of power is either a demon or a reincarnation... But which sage would have chosen to come back to this hellish realm?"

Looking at the crying child he pondered. "Should I help you or make things difficult for you? What a pain..." Sighing he took a beer pouch from his pockets and took a sip. "Ah, my Daoist friend, where are you when I need your wise words..."

"One luck charm, just one, I'll keep my eyes on you, however, if there are any signs of you being an asura, I shall end your life before you mature, heed my words carefully child because I know you can understand them."

Behind the glass frame, the baby stopped crying as he looked towards the bald monk. The monk wasn't lying, he could indeed hear him, but what sort of rubbish is he talking about? Manipulating luck? There is no such heaven-defying magic in the universe!

He was once called the walking library, a being who stored in his mind the spells and incantations to thousands upon thousands of sorceries! He knew even how to create a black hole, and he was certain that such an ephemeral concept like luck couldn't be manipulated. Infuriated with this fella's arrogance, he frowned his baby crystal eyes and moved his hand ever so slightly, the motions went unnoticed by the monk, who was surprised by a pipe breaking above him and drenching him in cold water!

Looking towards the baby who had a smiley face, the Buddhist monk laughed. What asura? Would those demonic beings have any sort of sense of humor? This was definitely a reincarnated sage. Shaking his head. He bowed and left a few words before leaving.

"If you ever wish to learn the ways of the Buddhist scriptures, seek me out in Kiyaru Temple, I'm pretty certain you'll be surprised by what we can do with our dharmic spells. The karmic ties aren't a laughing matter. This scornful look on your face, I assure you that I'll be the one to have it in our next meeting, farewell, benefactor."

A simple but strange meeting, indeed. For him it was a first, never had he met such an amusing friend in his previous life, people that are so easygoing are definitely worth it to befriend, a pity he knew nothing of this temple or whatever he was talking about, even his language was difficult and mysterious for him, had it not been for the magic speech, he would have trouble understanding the monk.

Clenching his midget's fists, he sighed and made himself comfortable in that horrible cradle they had put him in. At least, magic was definitely usable in this world and he wasn't the only one with it. The problem though is... this place feels too alien for him, all the strange tools and styles are a little bit intimidating.

Well, forget it, since a new life is ahead, I need to make full use of it. Mwahaha! Perhaps I can make this life very interesting. That's it, it's decided then, I shall seek the utmost pleasure while living here. No more of that shit of spending a thousand years just to create a new spell or deepen my research on some magic concept, I'm hereby forgoing my scholar status, in this life, I want to be a playboy! Mwahaha!

###

This world called Earth was different than the one he had come from, it didn't take long for him to start his studies and finally understand what all those trinkets the people here use came from, they were technology.

Because magic was kind of a late discovery for the vast majority of the human race, they had been relying on other things for most of their lives.

It isn't bad, but they could have done much more with magic, it's no wonder that they started to craft magitech in recent years, fusing both paths into a single one, this, however, will make them overly dependant and useless as mages.

Not that I care, but it will be fun in the future when I finally get the opportunity to show off my awesome magic without the need of casting devices or whatever the mages here use.

It's a pity though that I'm forced to live in this orphanage intern school until I have graduated from high school, there is no way to explore this world, well... So long as I enter one of those high-profile colleges, there will certainly be opportunities to show off and make so ladies infatuated with me, fufufu!

A few years later.

Shiryu raised his arms and stared at the horizon with a smile on his face, high school graduation was a success, he is now 14 years old and ready to enter senior high school! The first step might be considered the first, but it was still the one that gave him freedom!

Unfortunately... He looked back towards his 'house' and sighed... That small and packed place the government gave to him was horrible! It was like they were telling him to live inside a microwave! What a shitty living condition, how great would it have been having he been reincarnated the son of some rich lady.

Because of this world's laws, he was forced to live like any other orphan, he had free clothes, free food, free lodging, but no freedom of leisure because money didn't grow in trees, and the government doesn't allow small children to work.

This time, however, he has an opportunity. Looking at the sunrise he was full of confidence, the first step to becoming a genius playboy, just like his hero from the comics of this world, a being called Tony Stark, he first had to show what he was capable of, and his first target was the weapon market!

It was very easy to make weapons in this world, they had all sorts of them in the most varied of sizes and shapes. But what about shields? Hahaha! For as long as he studied, he never saw anything in regards to a reliable form of protection, by using his unique magic, he would be able to create a new market that belonged solely to him, and that meant monopoly!

Wearing his hooded jacket he left his home and started wandering the streets of Tokyo in search of some useful prey, crime never diminished even with the rise of magic as such, to acquire investors, one could try to present a product to the world and make some good and powerful advertisements, or they could rely on personal connections... What if someone important gets into trouble, after all.

If he managed to become acquainted with a rich person, he might be able to get them to invest in his ideas, the problem though was, where to start from?

Tokyo prefecture was an interesting place, the atmosphere was always cheerful and it felt like paradise if you ignored the dark sides of society.

Kids would always be playing around, merchants would be happy calling out possible customers on the street, and couples would come and go like the wind leaving behind the faint smell of progression for the country called Japan.

You could see it in the faces of the people, they all yearned not only for a good future for themselves but also for their countries, this nationalistic feeling was foreign to him, as he came from a very chaotic and anarchistic background, however, considering the threat of world war that they had gone through, he could more or less understand their feelings.

But was it that necessary? He honestly thought that the vast majority of the people in this world were fools. The year is 2094, magic is flourishing alongside military technology, where are the world's conquerors and people full of ambition? Back in his previous life, he saw at least 10 candidates of demon emperors rising and falling as well as five independent conquerors wishing to unify his homeplanet. It didn't matter that they all failed, it was the intent behind it that mattered, and he felt that this world lacked intent and ambition as if everyone was living one step at a time just for the sake of it.

Or so he thought, stopping for a moment, Shiryu raised his eyebrow and looked to the left, there wasn't much there, just an alley, but far beyond that, he saw a cloud of mana particles, so big and concentrated that it reminded him of some of the high profile spells he had used in the past. Such a large-scale spell of the School of Destruction, who could have cast something like that?

Interesting! You, whoever you might be, is the first human that I acknowledge in this world, with such power, you're worthy of being acquaintances with me, if we meet in the future, I shall extend an olive branch for you.

Nodding his head, he ignored the mana cloud forming at distance and continued searching for a target, it didn't take long for him to find something.

In a large alleyway, a group of thugs cornered a beautiful lady with blonde hair and blue eyes, a single look at her face revealed her foreign status, and those clothes she was wearing? Heh, they were definitely too expensive for the commoners.

"Haha! We finally found you! Once we are done with you, Silver Leafe Technologies will have to pay a hefty amount for your safe delivery!"

"No! S-stay away!"

"Well, this must be the time for my big hero entrance!"
