13 Going Home

The Rest of the last week passed by in the blink of an eye. Matthew spent the rest of the week either chilling with his friends or practicing Magic in the room of requirements. At the end of the term feast, Slytherin still ended up winning both the Quidditch and House Cup.

He wasn't too surprised, In the books, Slytherin won the Cup seven years in a row until Harry arrived. The only person who could surpass Snape's preferential treatment of his house was Dumbledore. Who until his golden boy arrived, wouldn't care about the house cup, neither would Matthew. Although he won a lot of points just by being active and the best of his class, he wouldn't go out of his way to gain a few extra points. His time was better invested studying and practicing, rather than in a Cup standing inside Flitwicks Office for a year.

Time was a major problem for him. Even though he spent a lot of time inside the Library and was able to read 3-4 Books a day thanks to the absolute recall ability of the Chip, it only amounted to a bit more than a thousand books. Only around 10% of the public part of the Library. Although there were lots of Biographies, History, Culture, and Law books he still only completely read through 20% of the magic books inside.

The progress with this pace is not enough to safely survive the second wizarding war. There is no point in preventing Voldemort's resurrection at the end of the Triwizard Tournament, he would only lose the advantage of his Canon knowledge. Since this is one of the major necessary events to kill him. So either he gets more time with a time tuner for example or he finds a way to accelerate his progress.

After the feast was finished, students who held off packing spent the rest of the day running around trying to get everything packed, because the Hogwarts Express starts the next morning. Matthew had wisely packed his trunk already the last few days. The four friends spent the evening looking for Harold's things since he was one of the last-minute students. Later that night, after they finished, the four friends spent the night chatting and playing before falling asleep for the last time as first-year students.

~ Scene Break ~

Monday, 25th June 1990

The following day, first thing In the morning we all loaded up on the Hogwarts express and headed home for the Summer. At the back of the train, we found an empty Compartment for the four of us. As the train rolled away from the ancient castle, his mind ran over everything that happened this year. His Death and Reincarnation, collecting a wide range of magical data, learning the secret behind wandless magic, creating potions, and entering the Trials of Ravenclaw. The first year was already busy, but the future would only become busier.

The closer the Train got to London, the more nervous Matthew became. For the first time, he would meet his parents as his new self. Yes, he has memories of them. In his last life, he was raised by his grandparents, his father left them before he was born and his mom died while giving birth to him. For a long time he wished to have parents, his grandparents loved him but It wasn't the same. One of his goals was always a big family in his last life and his new life.

The Train entered the station and stopped at platform nine three-quarters, "Have a nice summer guys, and don't forget to write." Exclaimed Roger while leaving the compartment.

"You too. Goodbye till September", said Matthew while collecting his trunk and Morgana's Cage.. He left the Hogwarts Express while observing the platform. In the mass of students and their parents, he saw a beautiful middle-aged dark-blonde-haired woman and a tall muscular man with dark hair and a full beard on his tanned face. These were Matthews's Parents Anna and William Mason.

"Matthew! Welcome home!" Cried his Mom while hugging him.

"Welcome Home, Son. I hope the train ride wasn't too long?" asked my father while patting him on his back with his big hand, "I see you started to work out. Nice Muscles you developed." He commented proudly.

"Hello, Mom and Dad. Thank you, Dad. The train ride wasn't troublesome since I shared a compartment with my friends." Explained Matthew while following his parents through the brick barrier into the Muggle World. They left the station in the direction of their car as they chatted about his time in Hogwarts.

After a drive of 15 minutes, they arrived in Bloomsbury in the West of London where their family home was located. Bloomsbury is one of the more expensive suburbs but is located close to the center of London. Their family home is just a 20 minutes walk away from Diagon Alley.

Matthew's family lived in a two-story-high house. They had a double Garage for his parent's cars, and a large garden surrounded by bushes. The House had 2 Bedrooms, a Guest Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms, an Office and a Living room with an open Kitchen.

His room was a pretty large room with a Window looking out into the garden. Inside were a bed, a desk, 2 cabinets, and a bookshelf. After unpacking his trunk he spent the afternoon with his parents. His Mother prepared a tasty welcome home meal.

"Oh right Dad, can you take me to the charing cross road street on your way to work? I have a meeting in Diagon Alley that day." He remembered.

"Sure. What do you want there? The Shopping list should arrive much later." Asked his father.

"I developed two potions in Hogwarts. And an Apothecary is interested in selling them. So I have to visit them to discuss a contract." Explained Matthew while enjoying the food.

"Ohh my little entrepreneur is already starting to make his own Money. I am so proud of you! By the way, on 11th and 12th July, your 7th-grade exams are happening. I left the letter with the details on your desk." cooed his mother.

After Dinner Matthew spent the rest of the evening with his parents before retiring to sleep. In bed, he started to read one of his mother's medical books, while slowly falling into the world of dreams.

Matthew spent the next few days completing his Hogwarts homework and Studying the books they had at home while his parents were at work, he spent the evenings like a good son with them.

On Friday he decided he needed a change of pace and left his house for a bus station. He used the bus to reach the outskirts of London where he entered a remote park. It was time to test his wandless magic. According to the AI chip, the trace on the wand would register every use of magic in its surroundings. That's why he left it at home. Only in locations with magical populations and in magical homes does the trace get ignored by the ministry. Since they expect that the parents make sure that underage wizards won't use magic. This is kinda discriminating against muggle-born since most pure- and half-bloods can practice magic unofficially at home.

Wizards generally need a wand to perform magic so the trace should be only applied to the wand and not on the wizard. To test out this theory Matthew arrived at a remote location where he can practice his spells. If the ministry should register underaged magic he can sell it as a burst of accidental magic.

So Matthew tried a few spells and started to wait. After half an hour still no Auror or Ministry worker arrived. That means his conjecture was correct and he can practice magic wandless without anyone registering it. Just not too close to his wand. Next, he will have to find the specific range of the trace. Driving so far away save just to be safe from regular humans spotting his magic is just too time-consuming.

He spent the rest of the afternoon practicing his spells before returning home as his parents should arrive soon.
