140 Astral Form

A while ago

While Matthew was checking the recordings of everything he ever said, he was thinking of his escape options. If he didn't manage to flee he was in deep shit. Either he got brainwashed into one of the workers of the TVA or he got reset.

Brainwashing may be the best option on first thought since he could back up his memories and consciousness with Sarah's help, and later restore him at a convenient time. But he didn't feel like letting others play with his mind. He was unsure whether they had any technology to detect the AI Chip or if it could survive through the Brainwashing. No this was a risky method to bet on. And even if he overcame the brainwashing, they would hunt him down once they realized he had fled.

But being reset looked like an even worse option. Based on his knowledge being reset meant being sent to the Void. The Void is a point located at the end of time where the TVA sent everything to be pruned. Like many Loki variants. The Timeline he created was already there and probably already wiped out of existence by the guardian of the Void. Alioth, the trans-temporal entity controlled and weaponized by He who remains. The creature who guarded the exit from the Void.

'A creature created from all the tears in reality, capable of consuming time and space itself.' Remembered Matthew how He who remains described the creature in the show, 'Yeah there is no chance for the current me to beat it or bypass it. Loki and Sylvie only succeeded because He who remains wanted them to succeed, else they would have died no ceased to exist without a doubt. I am not close to Loki's strength or centuries of magical knowledge and experience.' Realized Matthew.

'Sarah any idea how to escape the TVA and integrate me into the main timeline again? I don't want to hide in Apocalyptic events from now on so the TVA wouldn't find me.' He asked mentally.

[The host doesn't have currently any possible method to remove the energy suppressing Collar. After a multitude of tests, I found a weakness for you to bypass the Collar. But it has a multitude of its own risks and could result in Death.]

'Better than nothing… If I do nothing I am basically dead. He who remains has probably no plans for me or even a need so I won't be able to escape under his guidance and machinations. So what is this method you found.'

Back in the Courtroom

"Because the Timekeepers dictate so. The court finds you guilty, and I sentence you to be reset. Next case please."

'I need to do it. Now!' thought Matthew as he focused his control over his Soul, 'Shit he is too close. I need a few more seconds.' He realized as he began to run to gain some time.

The moment he was reset to his previous location and stuck by the Time-stick he managed to move his Soul out of his body. That was the method Sarah was able to determine he would be able to escape. Since the Collar was only suppressing all kinds of energy forms from leaving his body, but not manipulating it inside his body. He was still able to use internal magic like Occlumency and his advanced Soul control.

During the third stage of his Occlumency training, he gained control over his Soul to strengthen his Shields and Magic beyond their regular level, a technique that gave him another edge over other Wizards of similar level. It also saved him during his fight against Nightmare, which he was now sure was a Cosmic entity or demon from the Marvel Universe. This control over his Soul and his experience of Soul Magic combined with the knowledge he gained from Voldemort, allowed him to formulate an escape plan. This Plan would let the TVA believe he was dead or pruned.

Matthew watched his body dissipate and get sent to the Void, as he hovered invisibly in his Astral Form beside it. But unlike a normal Astral Form, this one wasn't tethered to his mortal vessel. While he was reading through the files a while ago he let Sarah create a new form of Soul Magic based on all the knowledge he gathered about it including Horcruxes and possession.

Before he got stuck by the Time-Stick he severed the connection of his soul to his body and left it behind. Similar to how a Horcrux got put into an Object, this technique does not need an unspeakable act since he didn't split his Soul but removed his whole Soul from his body. He was now in an Astral Form that consisted of his Soul and its energy similar to Voldemort s Spirit form. But he was invisible since his negative emotions and magics didn't manifest in a dark mist surrounding his body. Rather he was a pseudo Ghost. The only negative point of this technique, his time was limited. Since he wasn't bound to a mortal form anymore that produced energy for himself he used his soul energy which was slowly but surely dissipating. That was the same reason why Voldemort always needed a host to survive, in a Soul state they are unable to produce energy themselves.

'Good that worked. Now I need to find a suitable host. Someone rather unimportant so I can move around without getting too much attention. I know just someone perfect for it.' Thought Matthew as floated through a wall in direction of his intended target. After passing through multiple walls, he finally found the Lobby area again, where he arrived at the TVA, 'Hello Casey. Weak-willed and naive. A perfect pawn.'

There were three forms of Possession he knew of from Voldemort s knowledge, the first one was the method most Horcruxes used, slowly taking over a body through manipulation which was pretty weak and worked very slowly by manipulating the target, the next was used mostly by Souls still bound to a body taking a target over since the Soul had an energy source this was the most powerful method since if you were strong enough to overpower the target you could control the whole body, and lastly a bodiless soul possessing a body. The last method was the hardest since the soul didn't have an energy source or a safe body. Currently, he had still enough energy to overpower his target since he just left his body, and his own soul was more powerful than most others.

He entered the unknowing fool's body from behind, and carefully tethered himself to his Soul and life force. Since Casey was unaware of the intrusion Matthew decided to leech off him for now and become more familiar with his Astral form and possession Powers. Since he could leech of energy from Casey now he had all the time in the world to gather information.

For now, the TVA thought they took care of him. He who remains would see any planned attack on himself or his Sacred timeline coming. So Matthew needed to act in the confines of the Sacred Timeline, at least until Kang crossed the threshold of his knowledge. For now, he needed to gather more information about the TVA, the sacred timeline, time travel, and the future. And where would he learn more about it than from inside the TVA itself?
