Oslo then took one item he had ordered and kept it inside his pocket and looked at another item. Another item was a scabbard for his dagger. He wanted to buy a scabbard which was ready made but because of the unique crafting design of the dagger it was unsuitable for it to be sheathed in any scabbard he had come across.

So he had to ask the shop owner to make him a personally tailored scabbard suitable for his dagger. The scabbard was silvery white with a roots like branches supporting its beauty. And its unique crafting made it even eye catching.

He then paid the two silvers and left the place with a smile heading to the Advent guild for a new quest as he hung the sheathed dagger on his waist.

Money was not a problem for now since he had enough for the time being, what he wanted was the quest what asked of him to fight some magic beasts which were a bit strong. But unfortunately, no matter how long he searched across the board, he couldn't find any quest that suited his taste for the quest.

He then went to the reception and asked, "Excuse me, can I ask you where can I find the quests that are related to some actions?"

"Oh...you're the one without name. You're again for a new quest?" She immediately recognized him because his image had been etched into her mind since the name incident. She really couldn't believe that someone like him existed whose name wasn't written on the adventurer's card.

"Well, the only thing you can do is hope for the quest that suits you well to be pinned on the board I showed you before."

"Because of your rank, you're only allowed to accept the quest that is pinned in that board or maybe even lower." She added.

"Isn't there any other way so that I can go on a quest that is filled with some actions?" Oslo helplessly asked.

"There is...But I don't think that you'll like to hear it. After all, everyone who comes here are loose adventurers and the adventurers who like soloing the quests and they obviously don't like it...but it is the only way.", She said.

"What is it?" Oslo immediately asked.

"You can join the other parties that are stronger. If the requirements for the quest is met then you can go on in a joint quest which is very similar to partying with others to completing the quest." She replied.

"A party?" Oslo frowned.

"What? Brother, are you searching for a party to join?" One person said from behind, "Why don't you join us then? We have one spot empty for our quest and the man we're waiting for went for another quest. So, what do you think?"

He slowly walked to Oslo and rested his elbow on the desk and asked, "Do you want to join us on our hunt?"

Oslo glanced up and down of the man. Blonde hair, black eyes, a radiant smile on his face and well equipped gears and a bow on his back.

A rich guy?

Oslo immediately slapped himself in his mind and calmed himself. Why am I starting to judge again? I have to reply nicely if I want to let go of my past self. I have to reply nicely.

"Hello, brother. What do you think? Brother, are you even listening to me?" The blond haired guy said with a smile.

"Hmmm," Oslo said,"What about the rewards?"

He didn't meat to say that as he wanted to reply nicely but...Ah, well let's forget about it.

"Haha, you're directly entering the business." The man said, "But its no biggy. The reward is a potion. One full bottle of elixir. Each member will be able to receive a drop which will not let one to catch diseases like common colds or something that are transferable through air in their entire life."

"So, the elixir just makes you immune to the airborne disease? What is the elixir made from? Flower of life?" Oslo couldn't help but ridicule.

"You must be kidding brother. How can such potion be made of 'Flower of Life'? From what we know, the flower is but a legend that has been spread across the Magic Land. And it giving one immortality just by eating is also nothing more than rumors people came up with." The blonde man said,

"Besides, even if those rumors and legends were true then who would dare to take it for themselves. From what we know, the fairy will be protecting the flower and no one has the gut to fight a fairy. Well, even fairies are but an urban legend but if they were to exist then they would be a troublesome foe to deal with. Even elves are afraid of their kinds."

"And those are but a legend and not true. Maybe being the only one of its kind or maybe it didn't even exist that no man who searched for the flower returned alive. Well, most of them just say that they were enticed by the paradise the fairy lived in but since they were gone for too long, we can only assume them dead." The man added,

"But the potion is of no less and its effect is nothing to scoff at."

Hearing all that, Oslo's mouth twitched. So much information. He had just ridiculed it but the man answered him with so long sentences...it seemed that this man didn't got the joke. Was my joke very thick to understand? Oslo thought.

But he suddenly recalled the phrase said to him by John.

'Chase after my dreams, huh?'

He currently didn't have any dream for himself as becoming strong and protecting his loved ones wasn't a dream. He knew that strength wasn't a dream, but a thing he needed for him to achieve his dreams.

Oslo frowned as the 'Flower of Life' made his heart skip a beat just with the sound. He didn't have any dreams to chase after as an adventurer and a man without goals was like a sword without swordsman. He was thrilled just by imagining the adventures he have to go in order to achieve his goal.

Although it was said to be some urban legend that were just told as rumors, but not all legends were false and there was a chance that it really existed...even though it was but a minuscule.

Now that he thought about it, it indeed excited his spirit as an adventurer. His eyes were now set on the goal that might not even be true. He had decided that he would become stronger and transverse through the Magic Land in search of the 'Flower of Life'.

His dream was to find this flower that was only rumored to have existed only in legends. What good were the other dreams in front of the dream of pursuing the unknown? He had now made up his mind and a smile appeared on his face as he thought about it.

Adventure is boring if one is to chase after something that they already know of. All the romance will be robbed off, Oslo thought.

"So, you're going with us in the hunt or not?" The man asked.

"Ok!" Oslo said as he didn't find any quest that suited his needs...and he could also feel that the hunt words meant some action.

The man then took Oslo to his group. There were only five of them and including himself as Oslo counted the number. He had thought as much because the reward was a potion and each getting one drop meant that there must have been less people and a full bottle of potion was only four to five milliliter, so it wasn't much of a surprise.

"Let me introduce him to you guys." The blonde guy said as he looked at the group with a smile, "He is Oslo and he'll be our temporary party member for our hunt."

"Oslo, huh?...good name." Harry said as he stretched out his hand for a good old shake, "Nice to meet you, I'm Harry."

Oslo shook hands and formally got acquainted with other party members as well.

Harry, Levi, Cecile and Hark. Harry, Levi and Hark were boys and Cecile was the only girl in the party. Hark was the blonde man who invited him to the party for one quest and Harry was the party leader, or so Oslo thought because Harry was acting quite like a leader.

The quest was simple and didn't require of them in saving any village or someone. It only needed them for hunting and if they hunted the required number of magic beasts which was mentioned in the quest and present those corpse to the client then they would receive their reward, that was a drop of elixir.

When they were about to leave city Xean, Oslo stumbled upon someone he knew. It was Mavis and from what he saw, it seemed that she was heading out for some shopping and had stumbled across him by chance.

She then greeted him with a smile and asked, "Another Quest?"

"Haha" Scratching the back of his head, Oslo awkwardly laughed.

"Oh?", Her eyes lit up ,"What is the quest about? And what about the rewards?"

"Its just hunting some wild birds in the outer layer of Nagar forest and if we hand its corpses to the client, they'll reward us. And if you're concerned about the reward then..." Oslo said with a smile, "Its a potion."

"A potion?" Mavis gasped, "You sure lucked out this time."

Pills and potions were treasures that alchemist created which would greatly help one improving their strength and condition and many other things. It would also help one recover their mana in an instant even if one had used all their mana and were exhausted.

So potions...not only potions, all the materials crafted and made by alchemist were expensive for someone like him to come into contact with.

"Haha, I sure have." Oslo replied smugly.

"Then be careful on your way." Mavis said as she showed his the shopping basket, "I have some shopping in queue, so I'll see you after the quest. And also tell me about all the things that happened in the quest so even I will be able to enjoy the story."

"Ok!" Oslo said as they parted.

***

In the outer layer of Nagar forest, in the east side about hundred kilometers deep, Oslo and others were busy killing the wild birds. Oslo wanted to slap himself to a pulp for anticipating to be strong from this quest.

The wild birds weren't that different from a vulture except for that it couldn't fly, it was very aggressive and it's meat could be used for crafting medicines using alchemy. It was also same in size as compared to regular vultures.

Out of all the hunters hunting the wild birds, there was a girl who killed rather wildly. Cecile didn't need any weapon to kill the birds as she used her hands to just rip apart the birds as she killed it. The scene was a bloody mess and she killed as if she was some savage.

The birds were too easy to kill and even without using his daggers, Oslo killed them with hands. Unlike Cecile, Oslo didn't act like a savage and just turned their necks to kill them.

This isn't going to help my problem of hybrid mana, is it? Although Oslo knew that, he had already signed up for the job and could not desert in the middle.

Kursh~

With another neck snapped, it was his fifth kill and it was way too easier for Oslo.

Ten... Twenty...Thirty...Thirty four...

Now they only required one bird for the number to reach the requirement of the quest but the problem was...they had killed all the birds that were present in the area and there were no wild birds in the surrounding for them to kill and fill the number.

Hark then made everyone to gather in a circle and said,

"Everyone, let's split up and search for the last kill. Do not forget to give signal when you find it because if it were to turn out to be an evolved creature then things might get a little bloody!"

I wanted the mc to have a dream to chase after...so he got one.

And like he said, strength isn’t a goal but a thing he needs to chase after his goal.

#Hoping that you’re enjoying the story by far :)
