Khan was a lone vagabond who had been travelling all over the continent of Vetus. He had been on a journey in search of a certain someone.
This journey of his started three years ago and in that time frame, he had been to kingdoms and empires. He had met many foes strong and weak, he had also met young geniuses and prodigies from different houses.
The world was vast and he had been trekking on that vast and dangerous world. He had faced and brushed off death many times to even count.
He had met many powerful figures on his journey and grew stronger himself.
He came across the village and decided he wanted to rest and maybe get a drink or two.
Not even reaching the bar, he already crossed paths with a corpse. When he entered through the door, the smell of blood immediately invaded his nose. What he was greeted with was littered corpses and pool of bloods.
Moreover with greater inspection, he could see they died just moments ago. Their bodies had slash marks all over but what truly made him curious was the two men who had gapping hole in their forehead.
Khan had already knew the culprit behind this was in the second floor. He wanted to check who had done such cruel and inhumane slaughter.
Even though he wasn't unfamiliar with these type of scenes, he still wanted to check out who was capable of doing such a thing when there shouldn't be any crazy maniacs in small outskirt villages like this.
How shock was he when he saw the culprit behind this gruesome slaughter was a kid in his late teens. Khan had met many young prodigies, some even younger than the man infront of him right now but he refused to believe that this man was such prodigies, aside from the fact that they were rare, you would never find one in some small village like this.
So he wanted to test it out, to see if this young man was really capable of this one-sided slaughter. So he revealed himself and fought him.
He had to admit, the kid was holding out very good against him. Even with that kick of his, he managed to find the strength to stand up. He also had guts, charging at him right after being beat down. Most of all, the kid was meticulous and very effecient in his movement, he was very experienced by the way he handled and fought with the blade. There was no hesitation in his eyes and even though he was afraid at first, he was quickly able to take control of his emotions.
This kid had the quality of a ruthless killer.
Aside from all that, what really made Khan impressed was the weapon that had manifested in Noah's hands at the last moment. It was what truly made him view the kid as a monster. The weapon didn't exude the type of mana magic weapons would, in other words, it was a skill and not a weapon.
And such a skill made his A rank defensive skill reach the point where it would crumble at any moment.
He definitely had the potential to rise to the top given enough time.
"Chaos is brewing in the different kingdoms, there have also been abnormal readings on the rifts. Maybe there's a reason to the increase of genuises... a new era perhaps..."
There was a saying, the rise of a new era signifies an incoming calamity.
If that saying turned out to be true, then this kid right here will also play a major role on what's about to come.
Khan sighed, "Even if this is a little bit wasteful, considering your potential, I guess this is wort it."
A vial filled with green liquid appeared in his hand, he then poured it on Noah's collapsed body. It was a bit wasteful using it like this, it should have been ingested to achieve the best result but what could he do? Noah was passed out, still, this should be enough to heal his body back to normal, it might even boost his physical attributes a little.
"The names Khan kid, you owe me one."

Noah woke up, he looked around, and as he expected, he saw no one. The sun was rising and he woke up in the same place he had collapsed after the battle.
What he didn't expect though was that his body felt fine, it was as if he hadn't just broken a rib or two in the fight. Moreover, his body should be in a wreck right now, he had overexerted himself. He shouldn't even be able to move.
Maybe it was the System's doing, had the System finally decided to make itself useful?
[Host has survived a fight against a much more powerful opponent.]

[Level up]
[The host has received a new skill as a reward]
__________
Skill: Mana Recovery
Rank: A
Description: A passive skill that doubles the rate of restoring the user's mana
_________
Noah became pleasantly surprised, had the System perhaps heard of his complaint? It was being very generous at the moment.
So there were other ways to obtain skills and even gain levels. Noah didn't know if this was a special privilege because he had the system or if it was also like this to the denizens of this world.
Looking at the new skill he got, he couldn't help but grin. The skill Mana Recovery would definitely prove to be very useful in the future and even now.
Noah became aware of his many flaws from the fight. First of all, he indeed had very powerful skills, that was undeniable, but the drawback was that a powerful skill requires a lot of mana which he currently lacked. Despite having powerful skills, he couldn't use them to their fullest potential because of this.
However, with the new skill he gained, this problem could be elevated. He knew that to have a large mana pool, he had to level up many times, and currently right now, he couldn't do that. To level up continuously, he had to take the lives of others which is something easier said than done. Not because Noah wouldn't kill, he had already killed many people whether it be on Earth and here, however, Noah actually has morals and principles, he had never killed those who don't need to be killed - people who are innocent.
Even though he was a killer and never declared himself a good guy or some hero, there was some lines he would never cross.
