Chapter 73: Winter Woes

Winter clung to the school like a bad relative, refusing to leave. I'd been taking my new courses for weeks now and Reed was tutoring me on Magical Geometry. I still disliked the subject, but on my last test, I scored a high C. There'd been no inkling or sign of dark mages, though Reed still had me train with him once or twice a week outside of my normal studies.

I was a bit disheartened though, that he hadn't tried to kiss me again like the time we brought cookies, but he was definitely hanging around me more, so that was a plus. Just wished he'd open up more. Instead, our time was filled with work, studying, and more magical work.

I shivered as I hurried to the cafeteria for my second cup of coffee, more to warm me up than for the caffeine.
