Chapter 34: Dance with Me
The car pulled into the driveway of a fancy looking resort. Elliot looked me over from across the backseat, speaking calmly. “This place is unmatched, I come every time I visit. You’ll be in fantastic hands, I’ve arranged everything.” I stared out the window, unprepared to handle leaving the side of the one person I knew in the country. After a long pause, his smile grew. “I was thinking you’d rather have your privacy while freshening up, but if you’d prefer my company I would be more than happy to help you relax.”
I swallowed and gently shook my head, fidgeting with my skirt. I was terrified to look at him, worried that my face might give away how exciting I found his offer. I knew it was wrong to entertain the idea, but it was thrilling to feel wanted. As long as I didn’t act on it, there was nothing to feel guilty about, I told myself.
