Chapter 8

Taria opened her eyes, laying in her bed without knowing how she got there, on her phone ringing. She held her phone and saw that Tian was the one calling her, so she sat down and took the call, but Tian's voice gave her chills.

"Taria, sniff, please, please come out for a second", Tian said with a shaky voice that she never heard before, yet before she could say a word, he ended the call. Taria wore her jacket fast and went out running towards his car, neglecting the vertigo and the headache she was feeling. Her concerns got worse when she reached the car and saw him, laying his head on the driving weal, and smelling like alcohol with a red face.

Taria put her hand on his shoulder, but he didn't look at her, he just said "tell me it's a lie, please tell me it's a lie" with the same shaky voice. She couldn't understand what he was talking about, but seeing that it could even put Tian in this condition, then it must be something horrifying. She put her palm on his forehead, and his fever was a little high, so dragged him out of the car and walked him to her house.

When they reached the house, Taria sat the drunk Tian on the chair, then she gave him a glass of water. "You should drink this", she said, but he slapped it away after looking at it for a while, then he rose up fast and pushed her towards the wall. Tian looked straight into Taria's eyes, then he got closer and closer to her, and laid his head on her shoulder. Taria pulled the sleeping Tian to the bed after so much effort as he was twice her weight and length. she covered him well, and felt that he had no high temperature any more, but when she was about to leave, Tian held her sleeve, then he opened his eyes again.

"Moyi Park, the mafia snake, born in May, 1977. Is that really your father?" Tian said with a shaky voice, but Taria stayed silent.

"Taria, please say no, please tell me you have nothing to do with that man", Tian said as if he was about to cry

Taria felt darkness covered her from head to toe. Tian's shaky voice, the hurt look in his eyes, and the words he said were all pulling her deeper into that darkness, however, she couldn't deny a word he said. She closed her fists as well as her eyes, then she got ready to face the truth she wanted to kill

"Sorry, Tian. That person is my father", Taria said with a steady voice

The sad look in Tian's eyes got replaced with a cold sharp one, the same as when they first met, then he got out of bed and went back to his car. Taria tried to stop him but he left before she could even exit the house, then she went inside again and called Ve using Tian's phone that fell while she was dragging him to the bed.

"Brother Ve, Tian is drunk and he is driving somewhere I don't know. Please find him fast before he does something dangerous", Taria said, then she went out searching for Tian. Not knowing where to go or how to go, but unable to stay at home without doing anything

After a while, Ve called Tian's phone again, and Taria took the call with shaking heart

"Tian is on his house now", Ve said, but before he ended the call as usual she said "I need to talk to you"

"I will be waiting on the park beside Tian's apartment, hurry up, I don't have the whole night", Ve said

Taria went to Tian's apartment, unable to stop the thoughts from digging daggers into her brain, then she walked to the park where Ve was waiting for her

"You were the one who told him, right?", Taria said

"Smart, as always", Ve said

"How did you know about my father?", Taria said

"You should know that yourself, kid", Ve said, and he was about to leave when Taria stopped him

"Then why? Why did you tell him? I'm sure you know that I have nothing to do with that man now", Taria shouted

"Brother has never been in a relationship this deep, I don't want him to get hurt", Ve said

"I would never hurt him", Taria said

"The fact that you are that man's daughter can hurt him. The daughter of the man who killed his mother", Ve said, then he left.

Ve's words gave Taria the feeling that she got stuck by lightning, and she froze, blaming fate for tying them together in that way, and blaming herself at the same time. Taria stayed at the park, crying, and not knowing what to do. After a while, she wiped her tears and made a ring with her shaky fingers, but while she was moving it up towards the moon, it stopped at the 21st floor balcony where Tian was standing, so she decided to go talk to him.

When Taria reached Tian's apartment, she took a deep breath, and faked a smile. Tian was staring at the night sky calmly. His hair was glowing under the moon light, and swaying with the cold breeze. She walked towards him slowly, then she hugged him from behind and said "sorry, Tian. I'm really sorry that I'm that man's daughter, but I swear I have nothing to do with him now. Please don't leave me", and her tears started falling down.

Tian stayed silent for some time, feeling her warm breaths on his back, then he turned around to face Taria and he hugged her again

"Can we stay like that for a while? I need you, Taria", Tian said

"I'm not going anywhere, don't worry", Taria said, hugging him tightly

"Taria, brother told me everything today. Mother didn't leave me when I was young, she got killed, father didn't die normally, he suicided, and I lost the memories about them due to the strong shock. The past I know is all a lie, I can't differentiate truths and lies anymore. What should I do?", Tian said while his head was still on Taria's shoulder, but she moved his head to face hers, and placed her forehead on his while closing her eyes

"It's going to be alright. Everything is going to be fine. You just need to wait, and time will heal all your wounds. Cry if you want to, hug me, or even shout your heart out since no one else would see you, just don't keep it inside, Tian, it would hurt you a lot if you kept it blocked in your heart", Taria said while her hands were holding Tian's face

Tian, who was still not completely sober, felt his heartbeats accelerating again. His eyes were only seeing Taria who was so close to him, and his ears were only hearing her voice. He started getting closer and closer to her lips, but he stopped just before their lips touched as he felt something running on his cheeks.

Taria opened her eyes to see Tian crying silently, so she wiped his tears gently, and walked him into the house.

"It's chilly outside, how about you go to your bed now?", Taria said

"No, sniff, I don't want you to leave", Tian said while holding her sleeve and looking at her with a cute sad look in his eyes just like a puppy, then she stood up on her toes and patted his head.

"Don't worry, I won't leave", Taria said with a smile on her face

"Will you sleep with me then?" Tian asked, but his question made Taria speechless while her mouth was slightly open.
