Huston explained that he had invited a guest here today. However, the guest had said he would arrive later because something had come up at the last minute.
He had planned to invite Nina over, but he ended up discovering that Nina's group had been taken away by Jonathan.
When Klein found out, he rushed over to help, and the rest was history.
Nina listened in silence.
It sounded very reasonable.
On the contrary, Huston propped his elbow on the armchair and rested his chin on his palm. He tilted his head to the side, never taking his eyes off Nina.
Nina felt a little uncomfortable as the subject of his prolonged gaze.
She frowned slightly. "Why are you staring at me?"
Huston replied leisurely, "I just enjoy staring."
Nina glanced at the watch on her wrist. "It's getting late. I should get back to my dorm." She stood up and prepared to leave.
