The dinner was already being prepared and when Vincent asked Bertha to prepare the table, the head maid had rushed to the kitchen to make them bring the starters out. The food was almost ready while the servants served the starts and wine to both Vincent and Prudence.
It was warm inside and that had Prudence finally be comfortable. She let her hands hover and linger over the plate as she picked up the mint potato cubes.
That was the fastest the cooks could do instead of saying the food wasn't ready.
Even though it was prepared fast, it tasted no less than the exquisite cuisine which was served here every day. However, Prudence found the simplicity of the dish a lot more comfortable to eat unlike how sophisticated she had been dining since the time she was here. Moreover, she was glad to have some warm steam touch her skin while she slowly cut the already small pieces of the cubes.
