Plotting minds

Vincent's words came as a shock to Prudence but Mr Weasley was more than enraged at hearing the threat to his daughter. Prudence did not understand what was she supposed to feel. So many thoughts and emotions were clashing in her mind. To actually carry the weight of someone's expectations to win was going to make it so hard for her to carry the winning of the race.

"Are you threatening me outrageously about my daughter, His Grace?," Mr Weasley got from his seat.

Vincent leaned back in his seat as he stretched his arms on the backrest of the couch, "well I also offered you a competition. If your daughter wins then keep the racecourse. But if my Prudence wins," Vincent brushed the back of his fingers on Prudence's cheek to have her flinch at it. His eyes travelled back to Mr Weasley, "then I get the racecourse. Of course the offer to make you in charge has been expired now. Think about it, you have till tonight, you know what will follow that."
