91 Distractions

Vincent gently tugged Prudence's hand to show her the way inside the manor. Though she had been around both the east and the west wings, Prudence did not know most of the rooms in here. Vincent brought her to the most familiar east wing as they climbed the stairs which led to their chambers when turned right. 

Prudence could feel heart beating the drums of death for her. 

The Mafia king had requested and Prudence doubted she had anyway out of his hunger. It had been more than a week now and Vincent had simply come close to her. There was nothing intimate or remotely fatal for her. She remembered what had happened yesterday and told herself, of course she almost died. Prudence was informed by Nicola in the morning about Lady Lilian and Prudence doubted she wouldn't be in the same situation had she not offered her trust to the Mafia King. But he was taking advantage of her trust now.
