NEW PEOPLE

Shea slowly stood up and checked what it was that she was in and found a old creecked boat which was bathed in salt and sand. The fish scales made it slippery for her to walk to the edge, but she somehow managed to do it by holding the rusted poles at the border line. Jumping out of the boat landing on the mushy sand, she frowned at her muddy feet kicking away the sand which clinged on her.

Looking back at the water body waving to the shore, she realised how foolish she was to misunderstand a sea as lake. Mentally face palming herself, Shea stomped to the steps which led to the market nearby. The place looks completely different...which place is it? She looked like a lost puppy and at the same time, her thirst for blood retrived into her senses. The smell of fish blood filled the air which made her worse. Fish blood isnt something she will feed on even if she have to die of thirst so Shea kept walking finally sitting on the stairs breathing heavily.

She was totally mad at the person who helped her or rescued her from the mouth of death and ended the only chance to feel paradise. Looking at the dusky sky, she closed her eyes letting the cold breeze sweep over her wet fragile body. The foul smell didnt let her stay that way for any long so she quickly walked up to the market, making way through the crowd. The strong smell of fresh blood flowing started to bring the beast out of her.

Covering her nose with the back of her palm, she ran cluelessy to an isolated spot. Accidently, she bumped into a man who was carrying a box of meat making him stumble and drop the meat box near her feet. The blood oozing out of the freshly cut pork drove her crazy, unknowningly she bend down to suck the hot blood.

"Hey, its okay. You dont have to pick it." The man suddenly went on his knees pulling the box to him.

"I-." The words she wanted to say suddenly dropped itself back into her throat.

Shea looked up startled at the sudden voice hitting her ears to see the man close to her face. He was busy picking up the bloody meat while her eyes fell on his exposed neck. A very healthy young blood...she licked her lips as a reflex forgetting the crowd around them. She slowly moved close to him while a sudden wind rushed between them and the scent of blood doubled making her gulp.

"Sorry for the trouble." The man bowed at Shea and walked away leaving her dumb struck.

No..no..no...she screamed internally feeling her tasty blood going further away from her. The blood she wanted was just inches away but she couldnt get it. She closely followed the man leaving behind everything else she had in mind. The only thought in her right now was getting his blood some how. She kept pacing behind him like a cat following a mouse. Her eyes slowly turning red at the sudden blow of wind sending the scent of blood right into her veins.

The man stopped in front of a butcher shop and placed the meat box on the wooden table. He jumped over the small door which was till his waist into the reception counter. Removing the apron and gloves, he washed off his bloody hands. Shea stood like a dog in front of meat shop with saliva dripping down her lips. She have no idea why the urge was so sudden and penetrating and holding it in seems nearly impossible.

The man walked into the inner room leaving Shea anxious about his return. She couldnt attack him all of a sudden as the place is too crowded and due to some unknown reason, his blood drew her more into him. She felt a wave of nostalgia rushing in her. The smell of blood felt similar, a smell which she was attracted to once. After her impatient walk of to and fro in front of meat shop, the man walked out again in a complete different attire.

Shea moved aside seeing him taking big steps outside of the shop. Few people walking by suddenly rushed into her causing her to stumble and fall. Cursing the people under her breath, Shea managed to get up only to be offered a helping hand which she took involuntarily.

"Thankyou." she muttered rubbing off the smelly sand from her thighs.

"Be careful, you have been halluscinating a lot." Shea looked up to see the same man from butcher shop.

"I am sorry. I am just tired." she said trying to catch the scent of blood.

The similar scent which she got till now have disappeared. Her sudden urge for blood died immediately making her tilt her head in confusion. Why did it suddenly disappear? Was I attracted to the smell of meat blood? Disgusting! She thought to herself.

"Go back home safe, lady." He walked away quickly while she stood rooted to the ground.

Looking around to find the location of the current place, a big gasp left her dried mouth. She rubbed her eyes once again to make sure, she wasnt really halluscinating. The board hanging from the meat shop made her worry.

"K-korea? Busan?" She covered her mouth before yelping out.

______________________________________

I was in Beijing last night before falling into the sea, I remember it clearly. How could I reach Busan overnight? My head started spinning and I was hungry more than ever. I carelessly wobbled through the market alley ignoring the screams and shouts. Some vendors literally jumped in front of me bargaining to buy their goods which annoyed me.

My throat have dried up and I couldnt practically swallow my saliva at this point making me more curious as to why. I saw a goat tied to the end of the meat stall and thats when I lost it. I couldnt care anymore about anything. I swiftly grabbed the goat and ran of to somewhere while people followed me screaming and shouting.

"THIIEEFF...THHIIEFFF...MY GOAT."

I ran faster and faster slowly getting away from then. I walked behind a high raise building keeping the terrified goat down. I could clearly smell the hot blood in its vein and forgetting the innocent look in its eyes and cries, I bit hard on its neck earning a squeal from the animal.
