The next day
Emily walked out of the cab, entered the gates to the mansion, and almost immediately, she was surrounded by her bodyguards. Some stood in front of her, checking for signs of injury, and others ran outside to record the cab's number plate.
"Are you okay, madam?" One of the security men questioned her. She opened her mouth to answer, but she quickly shut her mouth because there was too much to say and yet she could not say it.
"No need to answer; you need to come into the house now." He informed her, and without arguing, she nodded her head and followed the man into the house. Once Emily entered the house, she sat on the couch in the living room and stared at a spot on the floor, allowing nothing else to enter her mind other than her guilt.
