Chapter 8
Adele shivered hearing her name from Dante's mouth, probably no one has ever said her name in such a gracious name.
"Remember what I told,"Dante stated before starting his car.
She nodded her head and once again thanked him for helped her twice.
"It's nice meeting you, "Adele quickly got down the car.
As she walked towards her room she kept on thinking about Dante, he seemed weird but not in a bad way.
She thought it was the last time she will meet him but what she did not know was it was the beginning for their many more encounters.
Next day when Adele went to college she was informed it's mandatory for every student to participate in at least one extracurricular activity.
When she went to give her name she spotted Hudson.
"I know you will be coming, "he smirked smugly.
"Give me a list of all the clubs, "Adele requested.
"Here, take it ,"the girl next to him passed her a sheet.
Truth to be told she did not want to join anything, she was not good at playing any instrument nor at any arts. She chose the one which she can do it without feeling like it's a burden.
"I want to give my name for science club, "Adele said.
"Science club, that's boring .Why don't you try for drama club,"the girl suggested.
"I don't know how to act, "Adele replied.
"With a face like yours you just need to stand on stage, "some guy chuckled.
Hudson narrowed his eyes at him and that guy quickly looked away.
"Are you sure or do you still need time to think, "Hudson questioned.
"Note down my name, my decision is final, "Adele replied.
She just wanted to get it done with the formality so she can concentrate on her studies. Truly speaking she was still finding it difficult to get along with her classmates, their upbringing was so different that Adele felt out of place.
Not that she was eager to make friends or have a social life but it was better to at least talk to someone when sitting in the cafeteria.
Adele did not know about the latest fashion trends or which celebrity is dating whom or which is the hot spot restaurant in the city. Her life was filled with studies and part time job, she hardly ever got free time for anything else.
Adele was going back to her classroom when Hudson came running behind her.
"Adele, I was just attending a call and in the meanwhile you already filed the form and left, "Hudson accused her.
"I need to go, next class is about to start in 30 minutes, "Adele replied.
"There is still 30 minutes, what's the hurry,"Hudson asked.
"Is there anything you want to say, "Adele said in an impatient tone.
"Should there always be a reason, can't I want to casually chit chat,"Hudson raised his brow.
Adele rolled her eyes and turn around to go but Hudson blocked her way.
"Hey, slow down, how about we have coffee after class, "Hudson asked.
"No, I need to go somewhere, "Adele stated as she had go to her part time job.
She did not mention about her job not because she was ashamed that she was struggling to meet both ends unlike the kids here who got allowance from their rich parents to fulfill their needs. She wanted to be private about her life nothing else.
"How about tomorrow,"Hudson did not give up.
"I'm busy,"Adele answered.
"Then how about Monday,"Hudson was persistent.
"Nope,let me go now ,"Adele walked past him.
"Well, very soon you will say yes, "Hudson seemed pretty confident.
Adele rolled her eyes and walked away from there without uttering a word.
After class Adele went to the bookstore and was checking the new books the readers have requested.
"Have you read famous five books,"Remi asked.
Remi is the only child and as both his parents were working full time, it made them spend less time with him.
He had been coming to the library from past few weeks and whenever he asked the staff for a book, they handed him the mentioned books and continued with their work .But it was only Adele who was not only kind to him but also listened to his ranting of books.
"Sadly no,"Adele said in a gently tone.
"No problem, I can tell you the story ,"Remi seemed excited.
In fact he used to be disappointed if Adele had said yes, he wanted someone to talk to.
"Well, there is good news for you,"Adele stated.
"What,"Remi asked.
"There is a girl named Jacklyn, around your age .May be she can be friends with you , "Adele had checked the login details and had got the information.
"Really, when can I meet her," Remi's eyes widened in happiness.
"Well, I am not sure about that, but I will surely tell her about you when she comes,"Adele promised him.
After telling about his day at school, Remi went back to reading his book.
"Good evening, how may I help you ,"Adele asked to the man whose back was facing her.
When the man turned towards her she was shocked.
"You here,"Adele gulped.
"Hmm..,"Dante kept back the magazine on the stand .Instead of saying anything he walked to the other shelf and Adele followed him.
Dante took a book read the blurb and kept it back, he repeated it with few other books.
"Is there any specific book you are looking for, "Adele asked.
Dante shook his head but continued checking the books and Adele noticed he wore black today also.
May be he never wears anything except black but one thing was sure he was eye catching that everyone in the store could not help but glance at him twice.
"Tell me your favorite genre, I can suggest something good,"Adele stated and when Dante looked at her,her breath got hitched.
His captivating eyes gave her full attention making her feel giddy for a moment.
"I understand, you may want to be left alone,"Adele took a step back but Dante said something which made her rooted to the spot.
