Chapter 3

After everyone has concluded that the party will be held at Morris's place, they started planning what will be needed for the party. Mary started making a list of things to purchase, what kind of entertainment will be suitable for them, dress code for them and their parents. After they have listed the items needed for the party and the amount of money that it was going to cost them, Mary and her friends started making calculations on how to share the money among themselves when suddenly Jason got up and started walking toward the entrance of the hall. his action didnt go unnoticed by his fellow students. 

Mary being unable to accept Jason's actions, quickly speak up.

"And where are you going, we are not done with the meeting so is not appropriate for you to leave yet".

"sitting here and listening to you people talk about how you are going to host a party after our examination when you are not even prepared for the examination kind of bored me to death" replied Jason while glancing at her.

"I know we have not begun with the examination but it is also good to plan" said Mary. 

"Okay, since you guys love parties so much you can continue with your plans and as for me, you can treat it like I was not even here when you are planning " replied Jason.

"Are you saying you are not interested in the party we'll be throwing after the examination"? asked a friend of Mary. 

"you are right, I'm not interested in parties, instead of wasting my time playing around I will rather use the time to do important things" replied Jason. 

When his fellow students heard this they were angry with Jason and at the side, Max was whispering to him to come and sit down but before he could persuade Jason to come back Alex and his friends had already started laughing before Alex stood and walked towards him and say.

"Jason are you saying you are not interested in the party because your parents cannot afford to pay the money for organizing the party? If that's what you are worried about then don't worry for I will include your share to mine".

Hearing what Alex just said made Max worried that Jason will talk back and he decided to calm him down and the same time let Alex know that Jason can pay his part of the money and for him to say he will not be participating has nothing to do with not being able to afford the money but before he could utter any word, Jason did not reply to Alex provocation but instead he walks out of the hall and head for the playground to wait for Max.

  On getting to the playground Jason took out his notebook and started revising what he learned during school time. After revising for some time, he came across an equation which He was not able to understand and started wondering about it until when Max came out of the hall and started walking towards the playground where he saw Jason with a book in his hand and a confused expression on his face.

"what's the matter Jason, what got you so worked up "? asked Max.

"I came across an equation that I was unable to solve when I was going through the math Mr. Edward taught us today and I have been thinking of a possible solution to it" replied Jason while scratching his head. 

"Hmm, do you mind if I go through the equation you have been trying to solve and see if I could do any better"? asked Max while sitting on the bench. 

Jason replied with a nod before passing his notebook to Max, after receiving the notebook, Max begin to go through the question and after studying the equation for some time he was not able to solve it and also gave up.

Max passes the notebook back to Jason before saying

 "Jason I also find it difficult to solve the problem".

 "It's alright Max at least you tried. By the way, Mr. Edward is still in school so why don't we go and look for him and ask him to help us" Jason suggested. 

"That's true but it won't be easy to pinpoint his exact location you know since class has ended" replied Max with a smile.

"Hmm, we can give it a try since we have nothing important to do right now" said Jason after thinking about what Max said about finding Mr. Edward.

"Okay, I guess we'll just give it a try but what about your parents? Once they discovered you are not back from school yet, is going to make them worry a lot" asked Jason.

"You don't need to worry yourself about my parents besides we are not going to stay here until nightfall" replied Max.

After their little discussion, Jason and Max started looking for Mr. Edward, they search from the teacher's block all the way to the student's block and still could not find him, they later concluded after searching for a long that since they could not find him, means he's no longer in the school premises so they gave up on the search and decided to end the search and go home then tomorrow during their break hour they will continue their search. 

While they were walking towards the school entrance they saw Mr. Edward discussing with the security guard and it seems like he was getting ready to leave. With a happy expression on their face, they both ran hurriedly towards the entrance while yelling his name. Mr. Edward was busy discussing with the security officer when he heard someone calling his name and he had to stop before turning his head towards where the yelling was coming from when he saw two kids running towards his location.

"What are they still doing in school at this time of the day" Mr. Edward muttered to himself with a frown on his face.

"With the way they are calling your name it seems to me that they were looking for you the whole time" replied the security guard with a chuckle.

"I know and I hope they will be quick with the reason they are looking for me. I really need a rest for today" replied Mr. Edward while rubbing his eyes.

Seeing that Mr. Edward has stop walking, they both hurried over to Mr. Edward and greeted him together with the security guard.

Seeing the way they are finding it difficult to breathe and have not said anything, Mr Edward quickly asked since his rest is on the line.

 "What are you kids still doing in school when you are supposed to be at home"?.

"We were having issues solving a problem on the subject you are taking and decided to look for you if you could help us with it" replied Jason after catching his breath.

"is that the reason why you were looking for me and can't wait until tomorrow before asking me when you see me"? He asked with a surprised look on his face.

"That's what we decided to do since we could not find you and decided to go home only for us to see you here sir" replied Max.

After hearing what the kids have said so far Mr. Edward sighed before asking them to show him the question that they were finding difficult to solve which they did and after going through the equation Mr. Edward quickly solve it and handed the notebook back to Jason before he started explaining the proper way of solving it and after he was done with the explanation, he bidded the security guard goodbye and took Jason and Max with him to his car before driving out of the school premises then headed towards their home where he dropped them before leaving.
