Chapter 76: War Of The Best, Part-3# Massive Casualties

Everyone was looking at Luffy's Susanoo, with awe as it looked really cool. But suddenly the whole battlefield strangely became shadowed by something. Luffy looked up and clicked his tongue amused by his own power.

" Huh..."

" What's that, the square got dark all of a sudden. "

All the war participants then followed Luffy's example and looked into the sky. Their expression going from normal to shocked to horror, even Sengoku was pale in fear and dropped his Den Den Mushi.

A humongous meteor large enough to cover the two-third of the Marineford was descending from the sky. The whole battlefield was silent like the time had stopped.

" Damn..." A Marine said as he laughed self mockingly.

" No, way..." said a Marine who dropped his sword due to fear.

" What is that? "

" It's out of our league...."

" We can't outrun it...."

" This is not good. Damn it, it's still too early to give up. Never give up without even trying. Do whatever you can, no matter how small the effect it may have. " Sengoku shouted as he saw the instant drop of Marine's moral by this single attack.

Even Whitebeard's forehead was drenched in cold sweat as he looked at the meteor slowly descending. Sengoku's encouragement fell into deaf ear as nobody was listening him.

The battlefield immediately turned chaotic and pandemonium broke out as everyone tried to run away.

" Hurry..."

" Run away..."

Sengoku frowned but didn't stop them. Then without a second thought, he transformed into his golden buddha form to protect the scaffold.

Doflamingo laughed like a maniac, " Kukukuku, you are the first man who impressed me to this level Dragon King. " He ignored the incoming threat and looked at Luffy who was calmly looking at the sky.

Finally after a while the meteor was in the target range. The three Admirals immediately launched their attacks to stop it.

" Ice Age..." Aokiji said and a massive semicircular ice-dome, which covered the whole battlefield except the scaffold with in a second.

" Inugami Guren..." Akainu created a wave of magma which was shaped like a fanged doghead and launched it against the meteor.

" Yasakani no Magatama..." Kizaru also launched his most powerful attack to destroy the meteor as soon as possible.

These two attacks destroyed nearly one-third of the meteorite from each side. But the largest part still remained intact and there was no time for second attacks as the meteorite was finally here.

Suddenly Sengoku jumped from the scaffold and started growing his body. His body grew until it was twice the size of a giant. Then he stopped the whole meteorite by using his shock power and his ridiculous physical strength.

' Wow, Sengoku can also do this. I have never thought of this possibility. ' Thought Luffy.

Aokiji also helped him by making ten bulky ice pillars to support the meteorite. Finally the meteor was stopped and Marine soldiers stopped running and cheered happily.

Luffy flew to the figurehead of Moby Dick.

" All right.."

" It's stopped. "

" We are saved..."

" Just leave it to Fleet Admiral Sengoku..."

" I thought we are doomed.... "

Sengoku flashed a mocking grin at Luffy as he successfully stopped the meteorite. The Marine soldiers also started cursing Luffy, but Luffy ignored them for the moment.

" So, what now brat? " Whitebeard asked nervously for some reason. Luffy grinned, " Let them celebrate their temporary victory. "

In the next moment Sengoku's proud grin was replaced by true horror once again as he sensed something.

** Boom.... creek....creek...creek...**

A second meteor came crashing down above the previous one. Before anyone could do anything, the first meteorite was blasted by the impact. Then both the meteorite swallowed Sengoku whole and crashed violently on the land.

A powerful tremor travelled throughout the battlefield and shook everyone.

After an unknown amount of time.

The landscape was filled with the fragments of meteorite and dead bodies of fallen Marines. Sengoku was sitting on the half destroyed scaffold with bloodied hands and head.

Most of the Devil Fruit users were alive. Scaffold was saved by the joint attack of Doflamingo and Kuma.

There was utter silence at the scene of such large number of Marines being instantly demolished. The Marines were looking at Luffy in horror whereas pirates were looking with both horror and respect.

Luffy smirked and asked, " So Sengoku, what do you think now. " Only silence was Sengoku's response.

Kizaru was trembling in fear as he recalled his fight against Luffy.

" RAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGH! " The silence was interrupted by the shout of a massive figure and upon hearing that roar, the pirates cheered, but the Marines froze in shock again.

" All right! Here comes Little Oz Jr.! "

" Yeah! We're sure to win, now! "

" Come on, Little Oz Jr.! Turn these Marine ships into kindling! "

Luffy smiled and sat down on the edge of Moby Dick. Seeing him sat down Sengoku relaxed and ordered to resume the battle again.

" Look at him! " shouted Vice-Admiral Doberman, " He's enormous! Our giants are dwarves, compared to him! "

" Ace is my friend! " Little Oz Jr. boomed. " There's no way I'm letting him die! GRAAAAAAH~! "

" Don't let him into the bay, whatever you do! " exclaimed Vice-Admiral Momonga. " He'll end up clearing a path for the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates! "

Then the war continued like normal and Luffy just watched like a spectator. Sabo, Yamato and Zoro made their way to him and both brothers had a happy reunion.

KROOM! Little Oz Jr. picked up a battleship, with its crew still on it!

Marines scrambled left and right, trying to get him to let go. They even fired their cannons at the behemoth.

" Ugh! " Little Oz Jr. grunted in pain as he was hit in the shoulder with a cannonball, but withstood.

" His bulk is incredible! " cried one of the marines. " He's more than twice the size of the Giant Squad! "

KA-THOOM! He threw down the battleship he was holding down into the bay. KROOSH! He hit the two giants that had been charging at him with it.

Kuma walked forward from his spot with the rest of the Warlords and put out his hands and began to collect energy in his palms until he made a giant sized, paw-shaped, ball of energy

The cyborg then condensed the energy into a compressed form before releasing it towards the giant. It floated soundly before it made contact with Oars and twisted his torso in a violent way and blasted off him. The giant began to bleed heavily and breathe just the same as he looked up and glanced at Ace who was gritting his teeth.

" Oars! " Ace yelled down at Oars as the beast struggled to stay upright.

" A-Ace. " Oars repeated before he collapsed due to trauma and laid on the ground.

" OARS! " Ace yelled out as the battlefield became quiet.

Whitebeard looked on to see the broken form of one of his companions and a fire started to burn in the older man.

Just then a giant Marine tried to attack the Yonko but he just grabbed his helmet and held it towards the ground before letting out a burst of his Devil-Fruit, dealing with the man.

He then readied his voice, " Charge across Oars and get Ace! " Whitebeard ordered as a battle cry sounded again.

As time passed Luffy became bored. So he glanced behind him and said, " Zoro, Yamato let's go. " They nodded and jumped along with him.

The moment Luffy jumped to the ground, the whole battlefield strangely became silent as Marine soldiers stopped fighting and started retreating slowly. Sengoku frowned in worry when he remembered his previous crisis.

After witnessing the horror of his single attack, even he felt chill down to his spine let alone them because only the visual impact was enough to destroy the moral of the enemy.

But he had to restore their confidence, otherwise the outcome would be more disastrous for the Marine.

Luffy's presence alone was able to made them hesitate.

** Clink...clink...clink... **

Step by step Luffy approached towards the scaffold and the sound of his armour scalding was like war drums in the heart of those Marines.

Zoro and Yamato were following behind him like trained bodyguards.

Sengoku shouted, " Admirals, it's an order. Stop that bastard immediately at any cost. "

All three of them nodded and simultaneously launched themselves at Luffy.
