Rovenin Frenzied

His magic disappeared into thin air after a while .

Carseain's knees gave out. He was falling.

But before even a strand of his hair could touch the ground his mother grabbed him in the middle of the air and Rovenin jumped on to him. She lifted both of them and twirled in the air.

" I'm so proud of you, my children."

Rovenin screamed in panic.

"Hey, wait...Sian passed out !!!!"

She flinched and stopped.

Putting both of them down, she smiled awkwardly.

Rovenin was supporting Carseain to stand up.

" My Goodness, I got a little too excited."

She giggled.

However, Rovenin didn't respond and Carseain was dead silent.

Even if it was dark, she could see Rovenin's teary face.

" Rovey?"

" Si-Sian's burning up!!"

He was biting his lips and his scrawny hands which held Carseain were trembling.

As Carseain's breathing got heavy, Rovenin's anxiety shot up. With each passing thought, his senses fell into unfathomable chaos.

' Did I make a mistake? '

' Why is his life force fluctuating so much? '

' Is it because of me, Sian's suffering?'

' Magic circuit tampering itself has a dangerous nature, a trivial mistake could be fatal.'

' What the hell was I thinking doing to an eight-year-old? That too, my brother? '

' What genius? I should have been careful. '

'I was too arrogant.'

Askaneira felt Rovenin's magic rampaging.

A blazing orange aura lined with numerous black threads of magic overflowing.

Those 'Black threads' were bad news. It meant that the person was falling prey to the darkness within them. Although right now they were very few to have any considerable impact, at the end of the day Rovenin was simply a child.

Askaneira gritted her teeth at the dire situation.

" I didn't realize he was this insecure about his skills.'

She yelled.

" Rovey! You're gonna destroy everything at this rate."

Rovenin's tears gushed down coupled with screams of agony.

" It's all my fault!!"

He wailed like a baby in the eye of the Magic storm vortex and lost the last of his reason.

Bertha cut through his magic in one slash and Askaneira dashed in.

She was already way too exhausted and the damage she took dealing with Rovenin's magic was no joke.

Nevertheless, she wasn't so weak as to bend the knee just because her genius son threw a tantrum.

She leapt straight into the eye of the vortex and hugged Rovenin. She placed a hand on his mouth.

" Shh..."

The woman with kind blue eyes hissed gently.

" You shouldn't be so loud when your younger brother is sleeping so soundly. "

Rovenin didn't stop crying. His magic was faltering.

"But-but.."

"It wasn't your fault. So, it's okay."

She patted his back gently and in harmony with that rhythm Rovenin's senses were put to ease. His rampaging magic disappeared without a trace.

"That's my child."

_____

In Carseain's Room.

A doctor was diagnosing him.

Rovenin's eyes were red and he didn't let go of Carseain's burning hand.

Askaneira and some maids stood by his bed in the room.

Johann and Ron returned and headed to his room.

Johann: " How is he right now?"

Doctor : " He's fine. There's no threat to his life "

Everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief.

But Rovenin wasn't convinced.

He glared at the Doctor with red watery eyes.

" Are you sure about it? He rarely gets sick, it's too unnatural."

Askaneira : ' At this point, I'm not sure if it was me or Rovenin who gave birth to Sian.'

The Doctor let out a sigh.

Doctor : " He's simply too exhausted. Both Physically and Mentally. His magic flow is stable if that's what you're worried about."

Rovenin bit his lip and looked down.

Askaneira : " Rovey, it's only natural considering the feat he pulled off. It must've taken a huge toll on the body of a child. "

Doctor : " My prediction is that he'd wake up as if nothing happened tomorrow morning. "

Johann : " Well, that's a relief."

The Doctor took his leave after and Ron escorted him outside.

Everyone was leaving so that Carsaein could rest comfortably.

However, Rovenin's eyes were still fixated on Carseain.

Askaneira : " Rovey, Let's go. "

Rovenin : " I'll stay with Sian."

She sighed. Rovenin didn't even look at her.

Askaneira : " Look, you're also tired. He'll be fine so-"

Johann placed a hand on his wife's shoulder.

She turned back and saw him shaking his head.

Johann : " Do as you please, Rovenin."

He said that and walked off.

Askaneira followed her husband with pressed her lips watching the sight of her eldest son try his best to hold back his tears at the sight of his younger brother.

In the Parlor, Johann and Askaneira were resting after the long day while Ron was preparing wine and cheese for them.

Both of them sat on the luxurious couch in casual and comfortable clothes.

Askaneira: " Johann, why did you stop me? Rovey was exhausted too, he should rest."

Johann : " You think he could rest properly looking like that? Worry would plague him."

Ron : " I believe so too. It's best if he has the Young Master in front of his eyes."

Ron handed her and the Marquis the glasses of red wine.

Askaneira : " Looks like we underestimated his concern. He did look a little nervous yesterday."

Johann : " That child is too smart for his own good. He doesn't let his feelings show easily. "

Askaneira : " I'm sorry for this, Ronny. It's all because I was too swept away with Rovey's new magic. "

Ron smiled.

Ron : " Please don't apologize, My Lady. I heard you got hurt badly while stopping that child's rampaging magic. "

Ron bowed deeply.

" Thank you very much for protecting him."

She started fumbling.

" It's obvious I'd do that! Besides, I wasn't that badly hurt. Just a few bruises. "

She smiled brightly, patting her muscles.

Johann : " He already knows that the cause of those few bruises was a broken hand and lacerated legs."

There was a brief moment of silence.

Askaneira : ' I'm gonna bonk that healer's head next time I see her.'

She upheld a forced smile.

" Did you know that our Sian succeeded in casting a spell without a chant?

Even though Rovey did it when he was six, considering how dumb our Sian is, it's no less than a miracle.

Trust me it was really complicated even for me, It felt like I barely scratched the surface...blah...blah..."

Johann sipped wine nonchalantly while Ron stayed silent and listened to his Mistress.

Johann : ' She's trying to change the topic.'

Ron : ' Though, she doesn't have to be so desperate.'

Johann : ' How cute.'

Johann put down his glass on the table.

He looked at her and smiled slyly.

Johann : " Ron, Have a Doctor check the Marchioness and tell Martha that the Madam of this House needs to rest tomorrow."

Ron : " As you wish."

He said pouring wine into the empty glass on the table.

'My freedom...'

She whined internally.

' I'm definitely bullying that healer starting tomorrow.'

Askaneira pouted.

_______

Rovenin woke up when the morning rays of sun teased him a little.

He found himself bundled up nicely inside a quilt laying down on Carseain's bed.

He sat up with a fuzzy head. His mind was blank as he was too tired.

He rubbed his eyes and realized that they were puffed up.

Rovenin : ' Was I crying?

Hmm...that last thing I remember is...Sian...was?'

He suddenly jumped out.

Rovenin : ' That's right! Sian...where is he? Is he alright?'

He scanned the room but Carseain was nowhere to be found.

He dashed out of the room and started running around the hallways.

He stopped a maid by pulling her hand.

" Have you seen Sian?"

" Huh? Oh yes, He's in the greenhouse. "

She replied, flustered.

Rovenin used magic to accelerate his velocity and headed to the greenhouse.

Even before he could see him, he heard Carseain's voice and slowed down.

Carseain and his mother were having tea and a few maids were attending to them.

He could hear him and the Marchioness chattering away.

Carseain: " I'm telling you that's not how you do it."

Askaneira : " You just suck at explaining too much."

Rovenin slowly walked up to them and saw Carseain's usual bright smile.

He stopped walking.

Something inside him settled down.

He could finally breathe.

Carseain saw Rovenin and waved at him.

" Sleepy Foxy~~"

He giggled.

Rovenin sighed.

' Never once in my whole life have I ever been so glad to hear that. '

Carseain was getting impatient, he wanted to brag about his achievement to Rovenin.

" What are you doing, sleepyhead? Come here, quick."

Rovenin started walking.

Askaneira : " Sian was just teaching me the trick to do it. "

Rovenin took a seat.

" Is that so? "

He smiled gently.

Carseain : " Aren't I awesome?"

He boasted.

Rovenin : " Yes, you are."

Rovenin was solemn.

Carseain : " I'm the best."

Rovenin : " Yes, you're right."

Carseain : "Huh? I'm so good that I might cast high-grade spells too. " He said in fumbling tone.

Rovenin : " Yes, you might as well do that."

Carseain : " Mom! Carrot-bro's sick! "

He whined.

" Usually, he'd go like ' Maybe in a 100 years you'll do it.' "

He said, impersonating Rovenin's voice.

" I did think it was weird for him to sleep for such a long time."

He held Rovenin's face and took a good look at it.

" Look, Foxy turned into a pufferfish."

Askaneira laughed heartily.

He didn't let go and made a big fuss.

Rovenin : ' Good thing no one told him about yesterday.'

He took off Carseain's hands from his face and stood up.

Rovenin : " I'll take my leave now."

Carseain: " Huh? You're leaving? But I haven't talked about yesterday yet."

Askaneira : " He'll come back later, Sian.

Seems like he ran as soon as he woke up. Let him freshen up first."

Carseain gazed at Rovenin with confusion.

Carseain : " Why did he do that?"

Rovenin ruffled his hair while a gentle smile crossed his lips.

" I had to check on something. Now that I've done that. I'll come back later."

Askaneira watched over them warmly.
