When she fell asleep, she could see herself back at the castle and back in the ballroom but this time it was empty, dark, and eerie. Olympia felt a bit scared but her eyes were wide open as she took slow curious steps to find the exit out of the dark ballroom.
She got out of the ballroom and appeared in a dark forest which was unexpected. She was wearing a black dress that had torn sleeves and was getting terrified.
Looking up, she couldn't see the sky because of the strange-looking tall trees which were blocking her view.
"Looking for mooncakes again, future wife" A familiar deep voice suddenly spoke behind her. She gasped and turned in her direction seeing a man standing. His silhouette made her squint her eyes.
Immediately she got a glimpse of his uniquely dark eyes, she screamed and her eyes flew open.
Placing herself in her sitting position, she placed her hand on her chest, closed her eyes then inhaled and exhaled before she got off the bed.
It was nighttime, the sky was bright and sparkling but it strangely looked like it wanted to rain. Olympia got up and walked towards her wardrobe, she removed a scabbard that had her unsheathed sword in it.
She tightened her grip around it and swallowed hard. "I can protect myself, I am strong enough to do so" She whispered confidently to herself and removed a bag made of strong white cloth, she placed her white ball gown which she wore to the ball into the white cloth bag then forced a smile and closed the wardrobe.
"Thank you Lola for washing it" She faintly as those words rolled out of her tongue.
Olympia remembered that didn't have any money with her but she didn't care about it at the moment and told herself that she would sell the ball gown to get some silver.
Unknown to the golden phoenix, some humanoid fire beings invaded the mansion, they killed all of the guards making sure that they didn't scream, and lit the fire at all the corners of the building.
In the mansion were Luana and Patrick who were talking and laughing with each other. "Are you sure we shouldn't go talk to her, I am very worried" Luana uttered with a faint smile.
"She must be sleeping, tomorrow will do," Patrick told her and rolled his eyes.
"Behaving like this, it's annoying" Luana admitted with a scoff.
"I have to behave like this, we will be rich soon all because of her" Patrick snickered victoriously.
Luana smiled and nodded. "Yes, yes we will"
"Look at you, you are worse than me, you are a very pretentious snake" Patrick praised and Luana giggled happily.
"What can I say, I am talented and you know that I have always wanted to act in a play" Luana laughed.
Luana turned to the direction of the kitchen, her eyes flew open seeing raging fire. She screamed and jumped off the chair. Patrick, who also saw it, held her hand and rose up. Without hesitation, Patrick carried a small chair and crashed the window with it. He jumped out of the mansion and pulled terrified Luana with him. In a flash, every part of the mansion was on fire.
Patrick and Luana watched with widened eyes. "P... Patrick... What about Olympia?" Luana stuttered and swallowed hard.
Patrick was lost in thought for a while but snapped out immediately as a fiery part of the mansion fell in front of him and Luana. He tightened his hand around Luana's wrist.
"Forget about her, golden phoenixes are meant to be extinct anyway," Patrick told her and they ran away.
Meanwhile, Olympia was prepared to jump out of her room through the window. Her golden long hair was packed into a ponytail, her white cloth bag was hung around her small body and she was holding her scabbard tightly. She was about to jump when she heard the terrified screams of her parents. Emerald eyes widened in shock, Olympia turned seeing that her door was on fire.
"What the!" She exclaimed and jumped out of the window landing on her feet.
The reflection on the fire sparkled in her widened eyes which were suddenly teary. The mansion she had been living in all her life was on fire.
She screamed in terror and ran to the front of the mansion which had collapsed into ashes. Remembering her parents, Olympia screamed and ran towards the mansion but jumped back when a large fiery broken piece of the mansion fell in front of her.
"No! Mother! Father!" Olympia removed the bag hung around her body, dropped her scabbard, and jumped over the fire, into the mansion.
The mansion was burning and she couldn't control her tears.
"Mother! Father!" She screamed not knowing where to look since every part of the mansion was on fire.
Suddenly, a humanoid being made of fire appeared in front of Olympia who gasped and ran out of the mansion. She took her white cloth bag and scabbard then ran out of the compound into the forest.
Olympia arrived at the small dark forest, her heart was racing and a scene of her parents on fire which played in her head made her heart skip a beat.
Suddenly, she was surrounded by a circle of raging fire and squeaked in fear. Humanoid fire beings appeared and were reaching out to her.
She had never seen nor thought that beings like this would exist. She threw her white cloth bag on of the humanoid fire beings then jumped over the fire this time falling flat on the ground.
She wasn't thinking straight, a lot was happening, her parents...
Olympia stood up and unsheathed her sword, stood in a fighting stance, and pointed at the humanoid fire beings that were heading toward her. Her hands trembled, angry tears filled her eyes and she was ready to fight.
"You don't don't scare me, you disgusting things killed my parents!" She screamed and darkness swallowed her.
Away from the villages and town, covered by thick forests, the castle stood proud and magnificent. It was a rare sight to see since humans weren't allowed to step in except for the special occasion when the ruler had to make an exception.
The castle was a red flag area for those who intended to break in, only those honored and known were allowed in.
In the throne room was a being of high status known as the king, he wore a nonchalant yet sinister expression as he sat with his back against the cushioned throne that was fixed on a high platform. He sat leaning to his left as he held his head which was leaning on his clenched fist that was balanced by his elbow on the armrest.
"I assure you, your majesty, no one knew about the attack" A man lay on the ground with his stomach with his head bowed as he said those words. "It was an unexpected attack, your majesty, please trust me" The man added, shivering. Behind the man were two casually dressed guards, it was obvious that they had followed him to plead.
Mystic maintained a nonchalant yet sinister expression. His thin attractive lips curved into a smirk as a nicely dressed maid walked into the throne room holding a glass of dark red liquid. She arrived beside him, bowed, and handed him the glass which he collected and placed on his lips leisurely.
"I like that word, Unexpected, it's quite a unique word don't you think?" Mystic swirled the liquid in the glass as he played with the glass slowly then looked at the men in front of him. "Unexpected things happen, it's understandable but with me, unexpected things are not supposed to happen especially not with what belongs to me"
The men looked stunned including the man who was lying on the ground with his stomach. "Y...you..your majesty, we didn't know even though we found it strange when you told us to look around" The man on his stomach whose name was Smith spoke shakingly.
"Of course, that's understandable but what is your reason for coming to plead when you know me so well" Mystic stared at the glass with a smile where his lips pulled out wide.
Knowing the king was that he knew nothing about mercy, the word mercy was a joke to him.
"Y..your majesty, we promise we won't repeat the mistake" One of the men behind Smith fell on his knees and made sure his head met the ground. The other men fell to their knees and started chanting, "Have mercy, Have mercy"
"You all have been loyal to me and I, to think that you all know me so well, Sadly," Mystic clicked his tongue continuously and glared murderously at the men with those uniquely dark eyes.
Smith looked terrified, the men who had been chanting had paused and also had terrified expressions on their faces. "Mercy doesn't exist, especially you insects who opened the cave of fire beings!"
