'Two minutes' excuse...

Few days later…

"Kathy.. Come here and help me in the kitchen. From the moment you've come downstairs, you're only busy in your damn phone!

We're having guests today and look at this girl..! Only wasting time in useless things!" Katherine's mother, Mrs. Sophia Blackwood scolded her daughter.

"Mom.. Just wait for two minutes more. Let me cross this stage." Katherine too shouted back, with her focus still on her game that she was playing on her phone.

This made the other boil in extreme anger as Sophia dashed towards her daughter who was sitting on the couch in the living room and twisted her ear fiercely..

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" A painful yelp came out of Katherine's mouth as she placed her hand over her mother's in attempt of freeing her ear from Sophia's strong hold..

"Two minutes! Two minutes! Your two minutes will never end even if I wait for my whole life. Just tell me how many seconds your two minutes are consisted of?" Sophia growled at her daughter, completely irritated with her 'two minutes' excuse.

"Mumma.. Mumma.. You leave my ear first. I promise to follow you to the kitchen like a soldier following his commander's every rules! Huhuhu! Mumma! It's paining!" Katherine made a crying face, pretending to look like the most innocent human being of the world.

But who was she making a fool of?

Sophia Blackwood!

Her one and only mother who was very well aware of her daughter's every single trick!

Hence, she just put more pressure in twisting her ear and said, "If I don't see your lazy ass in my kitchen in the next ten seconds, then you're going to see the worst of me."

"Mumma! I promise. Now please leave my ear.." Katherine pouted cutely, trying to melt her mother's heart.

Sophia gave her one last glare before leaving her ear as she kept scolding her, "Sometimes, I feel to cook this phone along with your food and then feed it to you. Then only I'll feel satisfied."

Katherine immediately hid her phone under the cushion cover and gave her mother a sheepish smile before sprinting to the kitchen being followed by Sophia who shook her head exasperatedly, witnessing her daughter's still child like antics..

As the mother daughter duo busied themselves in the kitchen, the two old men and Reno who had witnessed the whole scene from the stairs couldn't help but laugh at their craziness..

Katherine decorated the last piece of cupcake with some sprinkles and squealed, "Hallelujah! I'm finally done!"

Sophia smiled at looking at the cupcakes which were looking both mouthwatering and extremely eye-catching..

She loved to eat her daughter's handmade cake and other bakery items as one thing Katherine was extremely expert in, was baking!

She loved to bake numerous stuffs with different kind of flavours with a special touch of her own uniqueness..

And she was proud to say that no one could ever beat her in terms of baking!

"You did a good job, Kathy. Now go and get freshen up. Uncle Austin and his wife, Lisa will be arriving here at any moment now." Sophia said, making Katherine sad.

"Why Mumma? Can't they leave grandpa here to stay with us? He's so funny and cute just like Pa.." Kathrine murmured in a sad tone.

Sophia sighed at her daughter's words and said while patting her head, "I know, Kathy that you and Uncle Joseph have become very close in these past few days.

But we can't do anything else other than bidding him goodbye now as he too has a family to take care of. Moreover, now technologies are so much improved. You can video call him any time from anywhere.. right?"

Katherine nodded her head and finally left for her room with a cute pout on her face..

"Thanks for taking care of Dad. If you guys wouldn't be here, I don't know what would have happened to him." Austin thanked the whole Blackwood family genuinely.

It's been few hours that both Austin and Lisa had arrived there. Right now, all of them were having some afternoon tea and snacks, chatting with each other.

"No.. It's completely okay, Austin. Uncle Joseph is just like my own father. So we didn't do something to be so grateful about." Reno replied with a smile.

"You guys should have stayed for dinner at least." Sophia said, pouring a cup of coffee for herself.

Lisa lifted her eyes to look at her and denied the proposal very smartly, "No Sophia.. We'd have loved to stay over here for dinner. But we also have to catch the flight in three hours..

And you know about the traffic here. If we don't leave now, then we will miss the flight. By the way, we can meet each other anytime now as we've become more than good friends in just a small time."

"Yes… Absolutely.." Sophia too replied back.

Katherine who was sitting in the middle of her both grandfathers, couldn't help but ask, "Can't you stay for few more days Grandpa?"
