“You love him, don’t you?” I asked.
He looked away. After staring at me with such hatred, he couldn’t even stand to make eye contact now. “You don’t understand,” he muttered.
“Oh, I understand perfectly. I know what it’s like to love someone so much that it makes you crazy.” Boy, did I. My paranoia over Donovan had pushed me to the edge of insanity many times.
“How I feel about Ryan is none of your business,” he told me. “In fact, why don’t you just go? I don’t have anything else to say to you.”
I didn’t bother trying to engage him further. I’d gathered enough information about what was going on anyway.
