Lycans: The Origin

The Fallens are rising, as are those powers that are under their control, in search of the land of gold, Ophir, various factions race to find the coveted land. Creatures of legends are called forth, and creatures sleeping and unknown to humankind are slowly being brought to light. As the veil between the worlds is thin, who will prevail remains unknown. Join me as we create an epic supernatural battle between good and evil. Let us know if the creatures of the night are as evil as we think. This is the first book called, Origin of the Lycans. P.S. There would be 2 MCs in the book. Both will not be introduced in the first 10 chapters. I will focus more on the world building and background story in Volume 1. Thanks for understanding! P.P.S. English is not my first language so I use Grammarly to edit my chapters. If you see any errors or unedited chapters, please bear with me. P.P.S. The terminologies of the Lore Background here are from the Philippines. Do you prefer to get the information about the terminologies after it is written (i.e. Lantawan* (*Lantawan means portal)), or do you prefer it to be at the end of the chapter? Do let me know in the comments. Thank you!!!

Chapter 12: Sabado de Gloria

After the ritual, Good Friday, Seville Forest

"The Lord of the Fallen has Risen! Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice! The One Eyed Society's era will now begin! Hahahahahaha!" Cackled Regina, the Dark Priestess of the One Eyed Society. She watched as mass of dark clouds gathered. She gleefully observed the ominous signal, as if opening the portal and summoning the Fallen symbolizes the opening of Pandora's Box.

Slowly, the sky cleared up, the blood red moon now faded into a big yellow orb. The black mass slowly swirled down from the sky and formed a towering silhouette of a man in front of her.

"You have freed me from the shackles of Hell my faithful servant." said the towering figure. His voice seemed to be made out of thousands of people speaking together.

"Our mission is to pave the way for the birth of The Great Tenebrio's Son." Regina replied.

The creature stroked Regina's face with his giant claws. "Hmmm… Continue doing your work. For now, I will find my host, and slowly poison their church from within. Hide well from the Knights and Lightworkers. I will send a message once the first step is complete."

"Very well my Lord. Very well."

After the Blood Moon, Sabado de Gloria, Pan-ay, Philippines

The Light from the Blood moon receded, and the Rings of Protection vanished. Then came the loud cry of a baby boy, piercing the silence of the night. As the remnants of the shield broke, glittering ash covered the trees in the mountain of Madja-as.

Kadir, stationed outside the birthing hut saw how those who formed the Rings of Protection disintegrate as the light of Blood Moon touched their skin. He saw, how his father smiled and in his eyes, a resignation and acceptance of his fate.

He finally understood that the war they are preparing for was a war fought by future generation. His father already knew his ending. With tears in his eyes, Ramir turned towards the hut, bowed down and said, "I am Kadir of Kanlaon, Third Descendant, born from King Ramir, pleage allegiance to Marikudo, future warrior of the Light. The Chosen one, the never dying, gifted with several lifetimes, traveler of the worlds and time, and the Guardian of Ophir."

After his proclamation, a light descended from the sky, all the animals, all the trees, bowed down to the light as it enveloped the birthing hut.

That night, the Lightworkers lost a lot of their brethren, while Nightcrawlers and The One Eyed Society secretly rejoiced. They feasted as the Lord of the Fallen rose from Impyerno, to taint Bathala's chosen people, and reclaim his Kingdom for their own.
