I fell into a trap

There was no pup in the nursery.

I'll give you a chance to guess who it was.

You missed it!

I met a smirking Eden inside the nursery.

I was jumbled.

My mind replays to when the woman was crying and seriously begging the guard to be released so she can get her pup.

A frown takes over my hardened expression.

She tricked me no sane woman would leave a pup out there on its own in an impending doom like this.

She had to be one of the betrayals in the pack that Asher had tried sniffing out.

If I get out of this alive I was going to drag her by her hair and threaten her to show me the rest of her accomplices.

Seeing Eden here looking all smug only made me more wary of the woman than I already was.

Not once had I taken a liking to her.

There was always something uncanny about her. Her presence never allowed me the option to feel comfortable.
