Can Ares' love heal her broken heart and shattered soul and make her believe in love once again? ~ ~ ~ "It's not how I feel about you, but rather how I have never felt for anyone else. " ~ ~ ~ "I, Rowen, Alpha of the Hunter's Pack, reject Seraphina as my mate... " There was a pin drop silence in the hall as he proudly announced his rejection with a wide smile on his face. Pfft, this fool. Loud gasps filled the tensed air, as the most powerful person in this entire banquet came up behind me, wrapped his strong arms around my waist, and nestled his face in my neck. Shivers ran down my spine as I softly caressed his face. His authoritative stance and murderous eyes made everyone gulp in fear and shake in anticipation. "And I, Ares Maximilian Dacre, the Lycan King, claim Seraphina as my mate and promise to cherish and protect her, if anyone if so dares to look at her wrongly." His intense glare then fell on Rowen, who trembled pathetically. Oh how the tables turn!

Immature Brats, Another Prophecy, and Miss Enigma

"Can she be the one from the prophecy?" Azar pondered over in deep thinking as she laid upside down on the couch, with her scarlet hair hanging down on the floor.

"Wait-what? Why did you bring up the prophecy suddenly?" Damien questioned her confusedly as he took off his coat, and hung it neatly on the dresser, contrary to Azar's coat thrown messily on the floor, and shoes lying in different directions.

"And be proper, will you? Tsk!" He complained but cleaned up her mess nonetheless, making her grin widely.

"Whyy? I have you to do it for me." She smiled sweetly while blinking her purple eyes in a flattering manner, to which Damien rolled his eyes with a disgusted face and ruffled his brunette hair.

"Shut the f-ck up." A curt, rough voice broke them apart.

Azar scowled as she glanced at Elio, the third sub-ordinate, and the Delta, who laid on the couch parallel to her with his arm over his black hair.

"You shut-"

"Stop it, both of you." Damien gritted his teeth in a stern manner as sighed, running his hand over his face like a tired mom with both Azar's and Elio's belonging in his hands.

"I don't get paid enough for this." He muttered under his breath as he shook his head, observing Azar, who threw murderous glances at Elio, who looked up at her with his blank brown eyes before going back to his position, fueling her up even more.

Ugh, these darn brats.

"Prophecy. What about it?" Leaning on the wall with crossed arms, Damien continued his interrogation.

This attracted Azar's attention as she sat up properly on the couch with a thoughtful expression on her face. Even Elio's ear perked up as he listened on to the conversations, maintaining his carefree posture.

"Did you not hear what the girl said before fainting?"

"No, what did she say?"

"She said to Max that he's going to die."

Damien's eyes widened as he walked towards Azar to sit beside her on the couch in a daze. While Elio sat up straight, both staring at Azar in a daze.

"Could she really be the one from prophecy?"

"I ain't sure. That is why I was asking, idiot!" She whacked Elio on the back of his head at his rhetorical question, who clenched his jaw and fists.

"There is only one way she'd know that." Damien ignored their bickering as he stared outside the window in ponder.

"Either she really is the one we all have been searching for or," His hazel eyes turned a shade darker, "Perhaps a trick by these damn werewolves."

"Aw, I don't want it to be a trick." Azar pouted, while going back to her lying position.

"Why?"

"Ugh, did you not see her? She's so prettyyy and gorgeous, and so fearless, like damn."

Elio and Damien looked at the swooning Azar with blank faces before shaking their heads.

"Seriously. That's your reason?"

"Told you we should have left her behind."

"Hey!"

"She's a lycan."

"....."

Their heads snapped to Ares, who stood there leaning on the wall, with his hands in his pockets, that Damien previously occupied.

"What?!!!!"

"Are you serious?"

"You are lying!"

Ares simply looked at them without saying a word as they gaped at his words like lost kids in a park.

"I think she may be the one." He stared off into space, lost in his thoughts, as he rubbed his lower lip with his tongue. His usually guarded eyes were unfocused and mind a scattered mess, as Seraphina's sleeping face never left his consciousness for even a second.

Azar smirked in triumph and raised her brow into an arch at the guys, as if to say, 'I told you so.'

"But if she is a lycan, why we didn't get any notice?" Damien voiced out his concerns.

Azar's and Elio's eyes darkened as they instantly got up on their feet.

"Someone purposely hid this."

"Agh, I am gonna fricking torture this piece of traitor so much."

"How is she? Why did she faint?"

"She just had her awakening when she touched me. Judging by what she said, her ability is most probably something related to future visions."

"Oh gosh, wow, seriously, so freaking cool." Azar clapped her hands together as she fawned over Seraphina.

"Now's not the time, Zar." Damien shook his head at her.

"Elio, gather everything you can about her." Ares ordered Elio, who nodded his head before snapping his fingers.

The wooden floor caved into a depression around him, and after he jumped, the floor returned to its original state.

"Max? Is she your mate as well?"

Azar asked the absent minded Ares with wide hopeful eyes, making Damien wonder the same as he observed Ares' unresponsive state, who just walked out the room leaving them both unanswered.

But in reality, Ares himself wondered the same.

He did not feel the mate bond, but the electrical jolt her touch left behind was enough to make him yearn.

However, he wasn't too sad about it. Right now, all he wanted was for Seraphina to wake up and look at him with her wide ocean eyes one more time.

And to feel the touch of her soft skin while she was awake.

'For not being my mate, you sure are making me feel things, miss enigma.'
