Chapter 11
Wyatt notices that Daniel, the guy with a full cloak, doesn't have his rifle anywhere near him. So Wyatt asked, "Your name is Daniel, right? Where did your rifle go?"
He looked at Wyatt for a moment before holding his hand in front of him, seeming like he is holding something. Then, a dark blue fire engulfs his hand before suddenly, his rifle appeared out of nowhere. Wyatt and the others were shocked as if they had seen a magic trick.
"That is his weapon, an Abnormal," Olivia said as she looks at Daniel's rifle while having a wide smile on her face.
"An... Abnormal? What is that?" Fulario asked with a hint of curiosity and excitement in his eyes.
"An Abnormal is someone or in this case... Something, that has special properties and abilities. For instance, you saw that he didn't fire normal bullets, it fires some sort of magical bullets that can penetrate a hard layer of protection as well as firing multiple of them at once. That is its special properties. Maybe that White Mist person is also an Abnormal," Kalo cuts in, explaining what an Abnormal is as well as explaining what Daniel's Abnormal does.
"So it's like my pocket watch but a magic gun?" Fulario guessed in a questioning way that made Olivia and Kalo giggle for a bit.
"Well... That is technically true," Olivia said as she tries to hold her laughter in.
"Also, you said your pocket watch is an Abnormal. Can you tell us what it does and how did you get it?" Kalo asked in a curious tone as he puts his hand on his chin like trying to think of something.
"Well, it was a long time ago. Back when I was a little kid at the age of 10. I lived at the abandoned laboratory located in the south part of District 7. One day, I was walking around the laboratory trying to find food and anything useful when I stumbled across this pocket watch," Fulario then takes out his pocket watch that has now stopped running before continuing, "The first time I saw it was on top of an old table. Thinking that I can probably sell it, I took it for myself when suddenly I felt a severe headache and a voice speaks to me saying things like, "Beware of your power," and other things that I didn't think was important back then since I was a kid anyway. But then, the watch suddenly starts to run by itself and even increasing in speed. I felt... more powerful than I ever was. I became stronger, faster, have a better reflex, my physical body has been improved significantly after the watch ran."
"However, there is a price for everything," Fulario stopped for a few seconds before continuing, "The price for me using this power, is my age. The more time and people that I use this watch on, the faster I age and become older," he then gave a slight sigh before shaking his head and putting his watch in his pocket.
"I see. No wonder you guys were so fast and strong when we fight those machines earlier, you guys had a supporter Abnormal!" Olivia exclaimed as her face is filled with excitement.
"Speaking of which, why is Daniel so quiet?" Mirin asked as she is still leaning on her sword. Wyatt and Fulario try to help her with Fulario holding her sword while Wyatt holds her arm over his shoulder to try and support her body.
"Well, some power doesn't come for free. In exchange for being able to use that rifle, he became unable to speak," Olivia explained as she sighed a little bit with a hint of sadness on her face.
"Ah, I see. Sorry about that," Mirin apologized as she bows her head down a little. Suddenly, she felt a touch on her shoulder. It was Daniel, he is shaking his head at her.
"Maybe he meant that it's fine? That's the only thing that I can think of considering his personality," Kalo said as he also looked at Daniel while crossing both of his hands. Daniel then turns around and nodes at Kalo, as if to signal him that he is correct.
"Alright then, does any of you want to go to a Medical Center after this?" Axel asked as he looked at everyone there.
"Well, although we don't seem to have any major injuries, it's best to be sure. Well, let us go together then," Olivia replied as she looked at her team members and gave a nod which they also replied by giving a nod back.
"Wait! I just remembered... Sophie!! We need to go back! now!!" Axel exclaimed in shock as his face shows one that is filled with worry and fear.
"That's right! Then, Wyatt can go with Mirin to get treated to at the Medical Center, along with the others while I and Axel quickly check at Sophie," Fulario said as he looks at Wyatt and Mirin before looking back at Axel and gave a nod. He passed on Mirin's sword onto Kalo as he said, "This may sound selfish, but please take care of both of them,"
Kalo then replied, "Don't worry about it, old man. You can count on us!" as he looks at Fulario with a little smirk on his face.
Fulario then took out his pocket watch before continuing, "We don't have much time, Godspeed!!" he shouted as he and Axel are now covered in a dark blue aura around their legs.
Axel and Fulario then both run as quickly as they possibly can, however, this time, their movements became almost 5 times as fast as they were normally. Turns out, it was the effect of Fulario's Abnormal. It made them capable of running almost 5 times as fast as they were normally.
Not even 2 minutes have passed and they are already at the previous ShadoWarp. Which doesn't seem to be touched even a tiny bit by the effects of the sudden rise of the towers near them.
'As expected of the Gate Keepers. Even in this kind of situation, they are still able to guard the ShadoWarp and making sure that it's safe,' Axel thought to himself before running into the ShadoWarp and arriving back at District 7.
