CHAPTER 106

" OMG what is this ? I can't believe this " sarah said in shock

" What is it sarah,are you okay or has the video tape gotten to the police already ? " Cynthia curiously asked in concern

" No it's far from that, this is a police case but someone I know is the victim n" Sarah Said and cynthia sighs in relief

" Oh thank goodness. So who's the person and what's the case talking about ?"

" He's Eric, a my ex's boyfriend best friend. He had been charged by the police for the murder of the police stabbed at the neck by the road side " sarah said

" Oh you mean the case that trended a month ago ? " Cynthia asked

" Yes that's it Cynthia " Sarah replied

" But how come ? Are you sure he isn't involved in it ? " Cynthia asked sarah

" I don't know cynthia but I don't see him as someone who can kill someone. He might act crazy atimes but still looks humble " Sarah replied

" Are you sure ? You know you can't judge a book by it's cover right ? " Cynthia asked

" Yes I know that cynthia and that's why am still confused " Sarah replied

" How long have you known him well and how close are you guys to eachother ? " Cynthia asked

" I haven't really Known him for long or even really stay close to him to confirm his innocence, I just feel for him and think that the treatment is unjustly, that's all " sarah said

" And like I said sarah, you can't just conclude like that until you have known the whole strory "

" Wow I think that's a really good idea,I must know the whole story " Sarah said thoughtfully

" Yes sarah, that's the only way to know if he's guilty or not , you understand ? " Cynthia said and sarah immedietely got up from the chair she is seating down hastily.  " What is it sarah,are tiy going somewhere? " Cynthia asked, looking at her

" Yes, . going to go meet him in the police cell so I can ask some few questions, I will be right back when am done " sarah said as she picks up her bag and dashed out of the office and Cynthia stares as she leaves in surprise

" OMG,this girl is getting so weird everyday. I thought I was the only weird one around here and now she ? This is so crazy " Cynthia said with a smile as sarah walked out of the door in a hurry......

SARAH POV

After seeing Eric's name on the data given to me by a writer in my office,I got a really strange feeling and wanted to visit him in the office to know what happened. Eric must have done some so bad but I wasn't down with the part of him stabbing the police man, it was a frame work(my thoughts) by someone and I simply frowned again it. 

I got to the police cell with the intentions of going to interview Eric and Know if he was being framed for the case but got shocked when I saw david with him and also got him puzzled as I walk into the the station

" Sarah, what are you doing here ? " David stood up from his chair in surprise

" I'm got the news of Eric's arrest and came here to know how it happened " I replied him as they both look at me in surprise

" Yeah sarah, it's so shocking too and your friend is the one putting the heat " david said

" Yeah I saw that too, explain to me better " I said and took a seat

" Well I was with my lawyer thinking on how i would get through the first case of me stabbing a police officer when I was told that a lady was already in the office pressing charges, I got to ask who it was and unfortunately for me, she walked into this place smiling like a devil which was sent to destroy my life " Eric said

" What is her aim of pressing the charges eric ? I thought she has forgiven you ? " I asked him in surprise and they both stared at me 

" So you are trying to tell me you didn't were not aware of her plans ? " Eric asked me

" No I wasn't aware " I said and they withdrew back in disbelief 

" How can you say that you aren't aware, natasha is your best friend from day one show can you tell me you know nothing about her plans on pressing charges ? " David who.was listening to.me silently finally opens mouth to speak

" I wasn't aware of it like seriously, if I was aware I wouldn't be this surprise " I replied sincerely

" Well that's what I thought too, but also surprised hearing you say you know nothing about it, anyone would think you know " Eric said

" No I had no idea and it's been a while I even heard from her, but anyways let's get into the reason I was here. So about the case, is the allegations on you true ?" I asked him and they both look at each other speechless.   " You aren't saying anything, you know you can trust me,I just wanna know if the allegations are true and if they aren't true, trust me, I will get you the help that you need, I have got so many human rights activist that would help you get through this in no time " I said to him and waited for his response

" Well I must have stabbed the cop on his neck " he said stuttering

" What do you mean you must have stabbed him, what you are trying to tell me now is that you really stabbed him ? Are the allegations against you true or not ? " I asked curiously as Eric started acting a little bit guilty as I talk to him

" Yes sarah the news you actually saw is the truth. I stabbed him on the neck but it wasn't my intention to do so " Eric said

" If it wasn't your intention then who's intention was it ? " I asked him, looking straight into his eyes

" I was so tensed sarah, I didn't not what to do. How ass I supposed to pass through the check point without the cop checking my boot ? " Eric asked in frustration

" What was in your boot that you didn't want the police to see ? " I asked him

" Wait..... Sarah didn't tell you ? " Eric asked

" Tell me what ? I don't understand " I asked him 

" Wow.. you can't be serious right now. She didn't tell you that she was raped ? " Eric asked

" Of course she told me that but what does that got to do with the police checking your the boot if your car ? " I asked him and he gently stood up from his seat and wandered about gently

" I and my friends kidnapped natasha and gang raped her according to my plan and we were about going to dump her unconscious body in the the middle of the night when met the police at the road who decided to check out boot where natasha was in so I had no other choice than to stab the cop " Eric explained to me and I opened my mouth wide in shock

" So this is what you did to natasha ? No wonder she's so angry that she can't let go of the case, how could you be so cruel ? " I asked him as he wanders about in regrets

" It was a mistake sarah, I didn't know what got into me, I was so obsessed with natasha that I couldn't think straight " Eric said with regrets

" But you went too far Eric, you really went too far. I never believed you could even think of doing something as Cruel as that " I said and stared at him as he wanders about regretting his actions .  " So what is your lawyer talking about this case ? " I asked Eric who was lamenting on his mistakes painfully

" He's try his best to work things out but first of all, he wants to the case which is serving as a really big threat to his work outta the way which is natasha " Eric said

" Yeah that's true. Well I guess I am done here. I actually came here to know if the allegations against you was true " I said and stood up to take my leave when David who has been silent in almost all the discussions we are having suddenly speak up

" So this is your true intentions ? to come and run away from challenges ? " David asked and I turned to look at him

" Excuse me, what do you mean by that , I don't understand you " I said and gave him a really weird stare

" Oh so you wanna pretend like you don't have an idea of what am saying ? Well you can leave since that's what you have always been doing. You always give up on people easily even when you can try the little you can do to help " David Said to measure and I immediately became upset

" Excuse you, what the hell are you talking about, see I came here to see have a word with him and not you so I would sincerely love it if you keep your mouth shut and let me leave here to my office in peace, I have got so many things am supposed to do " I said to him and turns to leave with my bag when he blurted out something that really touched me

" This is how you behave Sarah, and that's why you can't never get a long lasting relationship because you are never patient with anyone who makes a mistake, that was thesame thing you did to me and made me feel like I was the only one at fault. Have you ever asked yourself if you were the one who did what I did ? Would I have discarded you the way you did to me ? No I wouldn't have, but you chose to act so cruel when I am one at fault, how selfish you are acting that way " david said to me bitterly

" So this is what all these is all about right ? Because of us ? " I said as I tried to control myself from the words which actually hit my heart so hard

" No sarah, it's not about this but about him. You came here and after hearing his story you decided to run away like a coward, how is that gonna help him hmmm , answer me " 

" What on earth do you want me to do on a murder case when he's actually guilty ? You know he killed an innocent cop and you expect me to fight for him ? That wouldn't be just or would it David ? " I asked and glared into his eyes when he suddenly let out a really annoying smile that he gives when he wants to something really annoying

" So that isn't just ? You believe in being just and you went ahead helping your natasha who did worst by raping two minors before suffocating them to death, what kind of wickedness is more than that or is it because she's your best friend and he's not ? Answer me at once ! " David said 

" I..I ..I...i.hate you " I stuttered as he's words really weakened me till I got absolutely nothing to say to him again.  " I really hate you david, I do and will never forgive you, I regret the day I ever get to know you " I Said, trying to control the tears that has already filled my eyes then ran out if the station.

"Hey wait, we aren't done here " David said as he follows me 

" Hey where are you guys all going ? You people wanna leave me here ? " Eric said helplessly but as he was left alone 

" I think your time is up so let's get you to where your truly belong " the cop came to take Eric to his cell....

SARAH

Sarah ran from the police cell to her car already in tears of the painful words david said to her and ignored him even as he chases after her. She started her car engine and began driving without even knowing where to go as she was really bitter and heartbroken so she turns on the music player in her car with the aim of the music calming down her nerves but still couldn't get rest of mind for what david said to her, instead, the song only made the memories hit hard that she had to turn the Bluetooth off. 

As sh was driving on the highway, she couldn't imagine herself doing well at work after david had already spoilt her mood so she thought of going to go meet James as he was the only one who came to her mind at the moment.  " Only him knows her to calm me down " she said as she drives to his place with a very high speed limit. Sarah got to James chamber but didn't find him seating in his chair as usual so she walked into his bed where she saw him coming out of the bathroom with just a towel on and smiled the moment he saw her.

" Sarah, I didn't realize that you were coming, though you would probably be in work by now " 

" I never believed I will get to this place at this time also, just wanted to clear my head and that's all " she said and sat on the bed

" Is everything alright sarah ? You aren't looking happy " James asked and came to sit beside her on the bed

" Can I ask a personal question ? " Sarah looks at him and asked

" Ofcourse you can, I'm listening " James replied, giving her his full attention

" What do you think about me ? And please I need your honest and sincere answer with on this if you really love me " sarah asked and looks at James in the eye

" I think you are a really girl who's a blessing to anyone " James said

" No... tired if hearing that " sarah said and stood up from the bed immedietely

" Why sarah, what's wrong with what I said ? " 

" It makes me sick James, that's what is wrong with what you said " she replied wandering around the room buttering and lamenting on things James couldn't understand

" Can you tell me what's the problem with you sarah, I can't get my head on anything you are saying " James stood up from the bed in his towel and said

" I'm just coming from the police station where I went to see Eric who was arrested for the case of murder which he is actually guilty of but got the insult of my life from david " 

" David ? What the hell did he say to you ? " James asked angrily

" When I discovered Eric was guilty of the allegations, I stood up to leave when david who wasn't even part of the conversation all through stood up to call me a selfish human, he said that I was being wicked and when I tried to explain to him that I only fight for the just, he had to bring Natasha's case which was so terrible because I really felt so guilty like I was leaving Eric because he isn't close to me so I want to ask you again James, what d you think about me ? Do you think he was right of what he said about me ? " Sarah asked James who stared at her as he stood still
