The door opened and Mu Yue saw a large table. At the end of the table, she saw a woman that looks like her. White hair, red eyes, and pale skin.

Mu Yue followed Hong Meilin and they both sat down. The maids at the side brought food for them which was placed at the table.

It was silent. Mu Yue did not know what to say and so she just ate as quietly as possible. Hong Meilin on the other hand was bored when she saw this.

"Can't you two mother and daughter talk? At least greet each other or something."

Mu Yue faced her mother, "N-nice to meet you... m-mother."

"Nice to meet you too."

Then it went back to silence. The meal was finished by them without anyone talking again.

Hong Meilin sighed, "I'll leave you two. Also, Mu Yue, your mom does not bite so don't be afraid."

After she left, Mu Yue's mother spoke, "Follow me."

The two arrived in what Mu Yue observed to be a bedroom. She saw her mother sit at the side of the bed. Her mother then gestured for her to also sit down.

"How was your life on where I left you?"

"It was not good if compared to other children, but I was fine with it."

"Do you hate me?"

"A little..."

"Do you want to know why I left you?"

Explaining about the princess part sounded quite bad but Mu Yue just wanted to be honest and tell everything. It probably made her look like someone who just wants the title of being a princess but whatever it takes just to marry Xiao Yan.

"Do you disagree?"

"I don't have any problem. Being a princess is your privilege and don't worry, I understand your reasoning and do not see you as those traitors who wanted the throne or something similar. As for marrying a human, I did the same, your father was a human as well."
