Lunar Cultivator

Mu Yue, an orphan who stumbled upon an inheritance, walked the path of cultivation to get strong. To see her teacher in person and perhaps find her family. That is until she met her. Mu Yue's priority was now her. Spending time with her is the greatest happiness she receives. Being together always was her wish... whatever it takes. And so a promise was made, "Let us grow strong, stronger than anyone else. Us two on the peak that no one will reach. It will be our place where we can spend our time together."

Casting Spells

"Now I'm going to start teaching you. Control your spiritual energy to your hand then change it to ice. Just imagine it turning to ice, like how you imagine your energy merging to a sword."

Mu Yue did what was told to her and quickly made a piece of ice in one try. This was because she was already taught by Tian Min on how to convert to different elements.

"So you already know how to do it. I guess your master already taught you how to convert your spiritual energy to different elements. Now that you know how to convert to ice, it's time to step it up."

"All cultivators can convert spiritual energy to other elements but only on a small scale. It's more like we are manipulating nature with spiritual energy. We can create water because we manipulated the water in the air. We create fire as we make a spark and feed it with spiritual energy. These things are simple."

"Making things on a large scale requires the appropriate elemental affinity. Like how winged beasts fly faster than the beast that uses spiritual energy to do so. We use spell scrolls to easily use spells. Everyone can create a spell but the most efficient of the low tiers are those that are already in scrolls. These scrolls have gone from generation to generation, improving them."

"Creating spells are up to the masters. As for you Mu Yue, I have a tier 1 basic spell scroll 'Ice Shard' that I want you to learn first. Being a Spell Cultivator is more of learning from scrolls than having someone teach you. You can ask Xiao Yan for help if you have difficulties. The spell is the ice equivalent of 'Fire Bolt'." The principal explained.

For the day, the principal is done teaching Mu Yue and turned to Xiao Yan. Mu Yue decided to stay in the room and read the scroll while waiting for Xiao Yan. What Xiao Yan received was more of guidance rather than being taught spells.

The two left after an hour and went to the training grounds located next to their dorm. Only special students can use this so it's the perfect place to learn spell without getting disturbed.

The spell that Mu Yue is learning has two primary steps. The first is to create the shard. Second, send it towards a direction. Doing it is simple, but making it to be of practical use in combat would take some time. Mu Yue was successful in creating the ice shard. It took some time for her to able to send it towards a direction.

Mu Yue's problem was how to decrease the time needed to make the spell work. She took a minute before being able to launch the spell. She then decided to ask Xiao Yan.

"Xiao Yan, how did you decrease the time it took for you to form your spells?"

"Well, I just kept on doing it until I got used to casting. I send a large amount of energy to form it quickly. Before you do that you have to-" Xiao Yan heard a small explosion happening. She saw Mu Yue lying on the floor.

"Ah, I might have done it wrong…" Mu Yue said while looking upward and seeing Xiao Yan's face.

"You should have let me finish what I wanted to say. Now sit up and listen." Xiao Yan said.

Mu Yue sat and listened to what Xiao Yan said.

Forming spells quickly was made possible by sending all the energy needed rather than sending it bit by bit. However, the larger the energy, the more unstable it is hence needing a person to have strong energy control. Mu Yue just straight up sent a large amount of energy without her controlling it properly resulting in a small explosion.

"I know you already have the necessary energy control to make it work but there is no disadvantage on having more, right?" Xiao Yan said which Mu Yue agrees to.

"Then first properly cast your spell according to the advice I gave you. After that, make another Ice Shard but only have it float around you. Keep making them until you reach the limit. The more you can control, the better your energy control will be."

Mu Yue then went ahead to do it not seeing Xiao Yan's evil smile. Mu Yue kept on doing it until her energy was drained, resulting in her body collapsing to the floor. She then saw Xiao Yan coming close to her.

"Ah Xiao Yan, I forgot to avoid depleting my energy." Mu Yue said.

She then saw Xiao Yan making a rather odd face and asked, "Is there something wrong, Xiao Yan?"

To which Xiao Yan just smiled.
