To go back to when life was easy, and her only worry was what to choose for dinner would be. Even if it meant faking a bond with a mate? Just long enough so she could escape this hellish nightmare? But what would Pearl do when she realizes she’s responsible for someone else’s wellbeing? Could she risk another for her own selfish desires? *** Would she be able to get her old life back? The life before these things humans only fantasized about became real? Pearl's POV

The thought of not being there when my shoe was launched, my first ever design, only added to my long list of worries and although I tried to hide the disappointment on my face, the next thought that occurred to me made it impossible as my eyes grew wide causing Drake to stare at me looking all confused.

"What's going on,? Are you okay?" He worries, and I know that at this point, he was already concluding that I was nothing but a lunatic with my outrageous mood swings within seconds.

"My shoes, my first-ever design, the one I did on my own without any help...it might not be produced in my name, someone might steal the credit," I said slowly I was on the verge of tears.

"Oh," was all he said and although I wanted to be mad at him for not understanding my pain, I pretty much get why he seems lost.
