Chapter 39 Visit

Natalie POV

Visiting his grave was memorable. Shawn held me the entire time he led us through the human cemetery. My heart skipped a beat when we halted in front of a tiny grave. My eyes brimmed with tears as my throat tightened. The tomb was marked with a black tombstone with his name engraved in pure white letters.

"Ace Johnson," Trevor read his name and paused for a while. Perhaps he was taking his time to memorize the moment. He didn't say anything else and placed the bouquet of flowers he brought.

Holding back a sniffle, I placed the rose I brought. I tried my best not to cry out loud, because I knew my Ace wouldn't want me to mourn for him.

"Hi, baby. Mommy misses you every day," I managed to whisper despite the tightness of my throat. Shawn held my shoulders, comforting me while I tried not to sob. Nonetheless, I lost against the tears that kept gathering in my eyes. I just couldn't help but cry for him.
