I covered my mouth with both hands as Khane turned towards me. The Khane standing before me now looked different—he didn't seem like the same Khane who had been with me all this time. It felt like I was hallucinating, but when I focused my vision, I realized it was real.
I saw Khane's eyes change color. This time, they seemed to glow under the moonlight, appearing golden and causing me to step back.
"Is he really the same Khane I've been with?" I asked myself.
My whole body stiffened, frozen after seeing this terrifying version of Khane. He stood unmoving, his gaze fixed on me, making me feel as though he was ready to pounce on me.
I could no longer feel safe and secure in his presence. Even though he was Khane, he didn't seem like himself. Could it be that Khane had a twin?
Yes, I was like easy prey waiting to be devoured. But the one in front of me wasn't a wild animal—it was Khane, the man who bought me.
