Axel and Xavier were given earpieces to speak with everyone else if needed, along with the other
werewolves that volunteered to come with us. There was no point in giving them guns or any of the other gadgets the humans had strapped to their bodies. They'd just be ripped to pieces when they transformed. Of course, with their heightened hearing, they really only needed the earpieces for the teams that would be too far away from us.
I was given one as well, along with a gun. I stared down at it in my palm and moved my hand up and down as I felt its weight. It seemed kind of silly for me to have a gun when my powers were more potent than any bullet, but Presley thought I should have one just in case.
"It has UV bullets," Alanzo clarified as he secured his bulletproof vest.
"Okay," I replied. "Why the vests, though?"
