The Alliance of Former Generals

Meanwhile at the revolutionary army's hideout. Balthazar was arguing with someone inside an army tent.

"What do you mean, Sarriento? This is suicide." Balthazar said.

"There's no better opportunity than this one, Balthazar. This is our only chance. Once Rigel has returned then we'll execute an all out attack at Nethilor." Sarriento said.

Sarriento was the appointed leader of the revolutionary army. He's a former general of Nethilor destined at the southern city, Norpine. However, he was expelled from duty when he opposed the king's order.

"You decided this all by yourself without even telling me in the first place. I have seen my comrades dying, months after months Midnight Justice loses a member and a new one replaces. Now, if you send all of those people to launch an unprepared attack at the kingdom then I'm afraid we cannot step forward even further." Balthazar said.

"For seven years we all have lived in shadows. Our people is dying, Balthazar. We need to disposed the tyranny of those who sat on the throne and overthrow those outsiders from our land."

"I get your point, but your people is not prepared yet."

"That is why you're here. You have allies who are strength and magic comparable to the Orions. You'll join us in the war, right?" Sarriento sneakily said.

Balthazar was lost in words. What Sarriento had decided clearly opposes his decision. He knew the revolutionary army was not strong enough and doesn't have a slight chance to win against two of the strongest member of Orions, Rigel and Betelgeuse. However, Sarriento was so stubborn and still pushes his idea to execute an attack once Rigel had returned to the kingdom.

Balthazar had no choice but to help Sarriento with his idea. He don't want to carry all the guilt for not helping them and letting hundreds of them die in the battle. He thought that if the Midnight Justice joins in the battle then maybe the deaths and casualties would be lessen.

"Okay, okay! If that's what the revolutionary army have decided then I am clearly in no position to oppose that. I will help you but only because I don't want to shed more bloods from our people."

"Good resolve." Sarriento handed his hand towards Balthazar and they shake hands, a sign that a final decision has been made by both camps. "You will be a great help in this fight."

"I will get my team ready once Rigel had returned."

"You're team should take care of Rigel, we'll go directly to the king. You don't have to worry. We have a new ally from the empire." Sarriento said.

"Who is it?" Balthazar asked.

Suddenly, someone stepped inside the tent.

"General Cordova, I'm glad you accepted my request." Sarriento welcomed him.

"How can I turn you down, old friend?" General Cordova replied and the two of them shake hands.

Balthazar cannot believed who he saw. General Cordova was the general assigned to watch over the western city, Westvale. He is a close friend of Sarriento way back when both of them we're still watching over both cities side by side.

"Hold on!" Balthazar interrupted. "How can you trust this man so easily?" He asked Sarriento. "He's one of the reason why we're in this position right now, Sarriento!" He added.

"Balthazar! Long time no see, soldier. I've heard you're the one leading the group of assassins and mages, Midnight Justice." Cordova said. "What more do I have to expect from the former general of Pevansheer?" He added.

"Listen here, you old twerp…" He grabbed Cordova by the neck. "I know you're loyal to the king, and if you're just here to eavesdrop on us. You better leave before I lose my temper." Balthazar said.

"Balthazar, hold on. This is just a misunderstanding. Let him go." Sarriento pacified the arising tension between the two individual.

Jeruzen slowly let go of Cordova's neck and tried calmed down. He clutched both his arms while both his fist clinching in rage.

"That time had passed, my friend. At first, I was only looking forward to give Nethilor a better future that is why I accepted the king's offer to join his side. However, as the years go by, I started to realize all of it. I thought the invading of territories was expanding the land of Nethilor but it was really not. It was all because of his greed. Our people had suffered long enough and I think it's time we should get the kingdom back." Cordova explained.

"I'm glad to see that we're all allies once again." Sarriento stated.

"However, our force is not enough." Cordova uttered. "There are four more current generals right now in Nethilor. If we could manage to make at least two of them on our side then it would be better." He recited.

"Zancrow is dead." Balthazar uttered that shocked them. "Midnight Justice had already taken care of him."

"Just when did it happen? How come there's no news about it on Nethilor?" Cordova asked.

"Last night." Balthazar replied. "Maybe no one had found his body yet."

Then something came up to Cordova's senses. "Hey, is your group trying to eliminate the generals of the empire?" He asked Balthazar.

"Sounds like that. " He replied shortly. "Only if you commit a crime just like him. He's hopeless after all. We cannot convince him to join on our side." He added.

In the middle of their conversation, someone barged inside the tent unexpectedly.

"Rigel has returned!" The man said.

The message alarmed the three.

"This is it. I've been waiting for this!" Sarriento said vigorously. "We'll take them down once and for all!"

"I leave everything else to you. I have to get back to Westvale and prepare my troops. Why did he returned so soon?" Cordova said in a hassle and immediately fled back to Nethilor.

"Then, I'll come fetch my team as well." Balthazar said and took out the teleportation crystal he had in his pocket.
