" You can try me. see if I can be of help. Don't underestimate me, am a high ranking angel afterall." Michael insisted.
" Bragging, aren't we?" Damien replied cocking a brow at him making Michael let out a hearty laughter.
The two of them though different have been close but not so close to be called friends. The two have had business relations in the past so that's how they became acquainted to each other.
" Tonight,she visited me in my dreams." Damien said In a low voice.
" And by her I suppose you mean your wife?" Michael asked just to be sure.
" Who else could it be?" Damien fired back.
" So what's bothering you, shouldn't you be happy that atleast you can see her in your dreams?" Michael probed.
To him,he would be very happy if his wife could occasionally visit him in his dreams. so seeing him worried about that didn't sit well with him.
" I am happy but the problem is,it's the first time she ever visited me in my dreams. It's been years since she left,so why now?" Damien murmured but Michael could hear him.
" Why now when you are finally plotting your revenge against the devil himself?" Micheal asked hitting Damien where it hurts .
" Yes,why now when am almost succeeding to make him pay for orchestrating the death of my family." He said.
" You know Damien,I don't know what to tell you. I understand your pain but I don't support your revenge plan." Michael said.
" That I know very well." Damien replied.
" I won't persuade you to stop but I think her, visiting you in your dreams, maybe she was trying to communicate something to you. Think about it,it's been years,so why now? Why did she decide to visit you now?" Michael said directing his half speech and half question to Damien.
" she was there and it felt so real Michael. I saw her and my daughter playing at their favourite spot. They seemed very happy even without me. But when I tried walking towards them,I couldn't. it's like I was glued on one place. Then the started walking away. I tried calling them but they didn't even turn for once to look at me. Then a gate opened up from nowhere. It was golden and sorrounded by all sorts of flowers. They started running towards the gate and immediately they entered through,it closed automatically. They disappeared before my very own eyes. They left me behind and I couldn't do anything to stop them." Damien explained. You couldn't miss the pain and agony in his voice.
Michael could feel his pain. It was just unbearable.
" I don't want to add to your pain but Damien,I think it's about time you let go of you hatred and resentment. If I am right,it's not possible for dead souls to visit the living especially if they aren't connected and you know what I mean. Grace was a lady you loved and married but she was never your mate. Once someone enters the heaven,there is no more interactions between them and those on earth, except if." Michael paused successfully drawing the attention of Damien.
" except?" Damien asked anxiously.
" Except when they are here to deliver a certain message to their loved ones. The heavens usually allows them to visit their loved one to communicate to them something of importance to save them from commiting something unforgivable." Michael explained.
" Are you trying to say. ."
" That's exactly what I am trying to say. Don't think I cooked this up,it's recorded in the heavenly library. If your wife visited you after so long,it only means that you are taking the wrong path now." Micheal explained.
" I just want those who killed my wife to pay the price, what's so wrong about that Michael? They robbed me the chance to have a family. And my daughter,my daughter was just but a young girl. What wrong did she ever do to them to butcher her like she's an animal. I don't know if I'll ever rest in peace if I don't avenge them." Damien said painfully and Michael could understand him.
loosing his wife and daughter was very painful. He can still remember the pain he felt when his wife died. He couldn't imagine how painful it could if his wife was murdered by someone.
But holding on to the hatred for this long was not good either. living your life just with the purpose of exerting revenge was so unhealthy.
" I can understand you,but Damien, this isn't how you are supposed to spend all your life. Besides the witches responsible for the death of your family all long dead. What more do you need to finally let it go?" Michael asked his voice full of concern.
" Michael,the main orchestrator of the killing is still alive, how do you expect me to let it go?" Damien asked his eyes bloodshot. He was raging mad like a beast.
" You know that it was not intentionally,yes, he manipulated Saul but the witch did not tell him why she needed him to manipulate him for?" Michael argued.
" Excuses, those are just excuses!" Damien yelled angrily.
If there's someone he hated, that would be Lucifer. He was the main cause of the demise of his family. But how could that be true, he just aided Amber in her evil plans.
" okay forget it. No need to be agitated. I just want to remind you that your revenge plan is interrupting the heaven's prophecy about Raphael. You might get punished by the heavens for interrupting the fate bestowed on Lucifer." Michael advised.
" I don't care about that,as long as I can achieve my goal, I don't mind the consequences. if I don't do it,I'll forever feel guilty." Damien murmured.
" And that's exactly it, you just want to ease the guilt you feel in your heart. But have you ever thought whether your wife will be happy seeing you destroying yourself and other people in the name of revenge? Think about it and make the right choice." Michael said Patting Damien's back.
" I'll look for you another time to talk about what I came to tell you,I'll take my leave." And with that he disappeared leaving Damien all alone.
