New MGS Update

I believe that this will be useful for my fellow writers as well as my readers.

Readers, Webnovel has a system called Minimum Guarantee System, which used to pay authors 200$ for 4 months after they start locking their chapters as long as the authors do a daily update of a minimum of 1.5k words.

This system has recently been upgraded, and now there is a minimum income that authors must generate through paying readers in order for authors to get the 200$.

This minimum income is 60$.

Without the 60$, writers only get 50% from the generated income.

So how do writers get money from readers? It is through so-called subscriptions, which means that readers need to unlock chapters using coins, and not free passes.

Here is a quick breakdown for you.

Chapter word count = 1001 - 1200

Chapter cost = 10 coins

Monthly subs needed = 1100

Money earned = 60$

Sooo in order for writers to earn the 200$ for 4 months, readers have to unlock altogether 1100 chapters per month.

How does this translate to coins that readers have to pay?

Let's calculate with 10 coins.

436 coins = 4.99$

1 coin = 0.011445 $ = 1.14455 cents.

So the cost of every chapter = 11.44 cents (allow me to disregard further numbers behind the comma).

During MGS months when I update 60 chapters (I don't even count the privilege chapters here), I need : 1100/60 = rounded up 19 loyal paying readers that will unlock every chapter without a fast pass.

Now, this number seems a lot, doesn't it?

It's because only 19 readers support the writer.

Now if we spread the number a little bit...

A book can have 1000 collections, and 300 supporters, but only 19 paying readers.

I as one of the writers who struggle to make things happen on my end by writing, beg the readers to please help out ONLY during the months of MGS, unless you want to support me in the following months as well (and I will be eternally grateful for that).

You don't have to do it alone!

If only 19 readers pay, they need to unlock 60 chapters each = pay $6.87 each for the month

If 38 readers pay, they need to unlock 30 chapters each = pay $3.44 each for the month

See how the amount of necessary $$$ keeps decreasing?

It will also help A LOT if you can unlock privilege chapters.
