71 Perhaps She was Too Sensitive

Li Qin Yao hummed a little tune as she walked out of the bathroom. She dried her hair with the towel and sat in front of the mirror for her daily skincare routine. As Li Qin Yao was applying some eye cream under her eyes, her thoughts went back to everything that happened on the day.

The project proposal that she had prepared with her team was approved by the board.

Actually, Li Qin Yao did not harbor too much hope that the project will move on to the next step. When her grandfather had proposed her to take the project in B City, Li Qin Yao was hesitant.

A part of her told her to let everything go, but there was a part of her that refused to give in. In the end, Li Qin Yao decided to gamble.

If the shareholders reject her proposal, she would be disappointed but would take it as a sign that she should not go back into real estate. However, if her project passed through, she will take it as a sign that she needed to return and perhaps take the chance to clear her name.

Unexpectedly, with Li Mu Bai's help, they can proceed with the project.

She did not know why did Li Mu Bai had agreed to help her with his vote, or what did her grandfather had said to him. However, Li Qin Yao knew that Li Mu Bai will surely have an argument with her mother over this matter.

With a sigh, Li Qin Yao continued with her skincare routine. Whatever it is, today was full of happy occasions. Besides the project matters, she had successfully shot the ball into the hoop.

Thinking about it, she was really grateful for Zhang Yu Han's coaching.

The first time she had properly seen his face at the coffee shop to retrieve her phone, Li Qin Yao had thought that although he was good looking, Zhang Yu Han had this domineering vibe around him that makes people did not want to get close to him.

In the past, while teaching her to play basketball Han Yue Xiu would often have that look as if she was going to kill someone whenever she failed to grasp what she had taught. Han Yue Xiu is a good friend and a good basketball player, but she is not a good coach.

At this time, Li Qin Yao was wondering if perhaps she was not so bad at basketball. It was just that, she had a bad teacher. With Zhang Yu Han's coaching, she had grasped the move clearly and had even scored once.

In the beginning, she was too nervous when he had spoken softly at her. Because there were just the two of them on the court, his voice was all she could hear. Which was why she could not focus and shoot the ball properly.

As she thought about Zhang Yu Han, Subconsciously, her lips curved into a wide smile. However, that smile froze in place as she realized that her thoughts were full of that man.

Li Qin Yao was grateful that Zhang Yu Han had invited her out for a meal. It might be a coincidence that they both have not had their dinner yet. However, Li Qin Yao began to notice that something does not feel right.

Perhaps she was just too sensitive, but after all, she had met a few guys who tried to court her and had experienced Chen Hao's courting in the past. Somehow, she got the feeling as if Zhang Yu Han was trying to court her.

Her neck grew warm up to her ears as she recalled how she had leaned on his chest as Zhang Yu Han tried to correct her posture.

Li Qin Yao laughed at herself and shook her head. "Li Qin Yao, let's not think too much or you'll only embarrass yourself."

Perhaps she was just thinking too much. There was no way that he was trying to court her. After all, they did not know each other for that long, or that well.

After patting her face a few times with lotion to dismiss her thought, Li Qin Yao went into bed to sleep.

The next morning, Li Qin Yao woke up early and took a cab to head over to Li's Residence. She accompanied her grandmother and chatted for a while before she headed to her grandfather's office to discuss the project.

Surprisingly, when she walked in into the office, her cousin, Li Mu Bai had come as well.

"I'm here to discuss a few things regarding your project," Li Mu Bai explained when he saw the questioning look in Li Qin Yao's face.

Li Ren Xin coughed to ease the discomfort between them. "I asked Mu Bai to come and discuss as well. Yao Yao, come over and seat."

Li Qin Yao nodded. She walked over to the sofa and sat down next to Liang Sheng. Soon, the four of them continued their discussion on the project. After arguing and haggling with both Li Mu Bai and her grandfather on the conditions, the three of them finally came to a conclusion that would satisfy each party.

As Li Qin Yao read the documents in her hand, her brain started to work on a plan to tackle a few matters as soon as she returned to B City. She turned to Liang Sheng and gave him a few instructions.

"Your grandmother had prepared something for lunch," Li Ren Xin spoke after a while. He glanced at his grandchild and continued, "the two of you should stay and accompany your grandmother more often."

"Yes, grandfather," both Li Qin Yao and Li Mu Bai nodded obediently.

"Liang Sheng, you should join us as well," Li Ren Xin continued.

"Thank you for your invitation, Chairman Li, but I have made an appointment with my father," Liang Sheng rejected politely. "Besides, I still have to catch my flight back to B City in a few hours."

Chairman Li nodded and spoke a few more words to Liang Sheng before deciding to send him off to the door, leaving both Li Qin Yao and Li Mu Bai in the office.

"When are you going back to B City?" Li Mu Bai spoke as he watched Li Qin Yao gathering the documents on the table.

"Tomorrow morning."

"That early?"

"I have a lot to do after you and grandfather had set up these conditions," Li Qin Yao said as she waved the documents in her hand.

"Sorry."

Li Qin Yao looked up at his sudden apology and met her cousin's gaze.

"I didn't really want to set up too many conditions and limit the budget for that project. It was a good and profitable project," Li Mu Bai spoke and frown. "But those conditions. They were the only way I know to protect you. Yao Yao, you know that my mother did not agree to let you manage this project. If it was up to her, she would let my sister do it. But at least with this limit budgets, Mu Chen will not dare to accept the project even if my mother insist for her to accept it."

Li Qin Yao was surprised to hear his words. However, after analyzing what Li Mu Bai had said, she understood why he had limited the budget, and asked for her to find investors on her own. "You're not afraid I would reject those conditions and the project altogether?"

A small smile appeared on Li Mu Bai's lips. "We have worked together for years. I know you. You would not reject the project once you see the potential in it. Besides, even if it seemed like you were at a disadvantage, I know that you can do it."
