Chapter 5

Arya spiced up a glass of milk for me.

I brought the glass up to Arya and said,

"Perhaps I'll just throw it up, because I've been having a bad feeling."

"Make yourself drink it to warm your stomach," she suggested.

I drank a glass of milk, sipping it slowly.

"Where has Kiley gone?" I asked.

"I believe he had surgery in the hospital; he go there last night."

"All right," I respond.

"Dionne, I'm going to work in the office right now," she says,

"I'm alright if you leave me alone here, Arya." I respond.

"Are you sure?

"It's embarrassing, Arya, if I become a burden to you."

"Don't think that, the important thing is that you're okay." Arya replied.

Five minutes later, Arya left for work. I was left alone in the living room of the house. I went inside my room to get dressed because I had a meeting in town today. I'd like to take a walk. I'm currently in my room. I'm still folding clothes and putting them in the closet. I'll pair the leggings with a hoodie and a pink blouse. I'll put it on and put on some light make-up.

I left the house after the gate was securely closed after I was satisfied with how I looked in the mirror with my make-up. I texted Arya, telling her I was going to the mall for a few minutes.

I called a taxi outside my house. Two minutes later, a cab pulled up in front of me. I'll get into the cab, and the driver will follow me. I'd like to go to the city to relax because my mind is racing with theories about what caused Noah to break up with me.

I arrived in town an hour later. I informed the driver that I was going to the mall. A few minutes later, the car pulled over to the mall. I took money from my wallet and handed it to him. I got out of the taxi after paying.

After I got out of the taxi, I walked carefully. The guard grinned as I passed in front of him as he stood near the mall's entrance. I went to the supermarket of the mall to get some junk food and snacks.

I'll take a chip and crack it open, then eat it. Since yesterday, I've been craving these chips. When someone speaks, I'll eat quietly while leaning against the food stand.

"It's not polite to eat those foods when you haven't paid for them first," the man said, his voice husky. "What did the owner say about a beautiful woman like you when they saw you on the CCTV in their office? I didn't summon the guts to look at him, so I'll just keep eating.

Then I saw that the man was no longer by my side, as if he had left since I hadn't spoken to him.

I brought its skin to the counter to pay after I finished eating the chips.

I explained, "Miss, I'll pay; I apologize for opening the chips; I'm pregnant, so I'm yearning."

The cashier gave a friendly smile.

"Your husband already paid for that, Ma'am." she replied.

What I heard made my eyes widen. Noah and I, as far as I recall, ended our relationship. I was a little perplexed by the cashier's statement.

I haven't yet commented since I'm perplexed.

A woman once told me, as she handed me a pink paper bag, "In fact, ma'am, he left something for you; I'll just give it to you because he's still going elsewhere."

With my brow wrinkled, I snatched up the paper bag and carried it out of the mall. What is the content of it? I visited a cafe near the mall. I entered and proceeded to the counter to place my order.

I placed an order for two cake slices and a frappe.

Once the counter manager finished writing, I went looking for a seat.

In the corner, I noticed an empty seat. I took a seat and set the paper bag and sling on the table. But my curiosity regarding who is behind this paper bag thing is never-ending.

I took the paper bag and examined it while waiting for my order. I had a look inside after opening it.

What I saw astounded me. The entire outfit is made up of the contents of a paper bag; it is pink with a rose motif on the front and perforated on the back.

What did the person who handed it to me think about it? Because Noah dislikes giving gifts, it's impossible that he gave it to me.

I returned the garments to the paper bag, but I came to a halt when I came across a small box.

My brow furrowed as I lifted it, knowing the necklace was inside the box.

I immediately ripped open the small box. I was also shown a 60k white gold chain with its own diamond on it. A pendant with etched initials within that appears to be an infinite pattern is also available. I had to look closely because the initials are small, which caused my brow to furrow. I'm confident it's not me. When did my initials change to LCB?

I replaced the necklace in the box. and then put it back in the paper bag

My snacks had also arrived. The waiter caught it and returned to the Cafe' kitchen. I'll start eating because when I'm done, I'll go back to the mall and give them this paper bag.

Accepting a gift from someone I don't know is embarrasing for me

Then there were the pricey items for what he had given.

I completed my snacks half an hour later. I got up and went to the counter to pay. I'm wearing my sling and carrying a paper bag.

I left the Cafe' and went back to the mall. I approached the cashier directly.

"I'll return it, Miss; you may have given it to the wrong person," I said as I slid the paper bag onto the counter.

"I'm too young to have an eye defect, Ma'am," the woman smiled, "and he pointed you out to me earlier while you were munching chips, so I can't be wrong."

I was embarrassed.

I apologized, "I'm sorry."
