She Lost Control

Cameron looked at the princess. "I love you, Eleanor. I lied to her about everything because she wouldn't let me go. She threatened me."

Eleanor smiled. "I believe you."

Licia covered her ears and started walking around in circles. "I don't believe it! You love me, not her! I loved you first!"

"How many times do I have to tell you that you I didn't mean it?" Cameron shouted.

Licia stopped to looked at him. "What?"

"I was missing Eleanor really bad, so I was unaware of what I was saying to you that day."

"That's not true! You told me that Eleanor was just a substitute!"

"You're getting on my nerves, so I guess I'll just have to do it the hurtful way. You know what? I never loved you, Licia. My mother wanted me to have a fiancé at such an early age, so I used you. You were my only female friend at that time. I've never fallen for any woman except Eleanor, so I apologize if I hurt your feelings, but I really can't return it."

As soon as Licia heard what Cameron said, her heart wailed up all sorts of emotions. She had waited for him all her life, but here he was, telling her that he actually never felt anything for her. She wanted to slap him, strangle his neck, and hit him. But she also wanted to desperately hug him, kiss him and —love him...

Wasn't a sorry enough? How much more does he want? Just why can't everything go back to the way it used to?

Sadness to pain to anger swelled up to her. All of the emotions I seize bottled up.

"Licia, I'm really sorry," Eleanor apologized.

Licia looked at the ceiling and laughed. "You're such a dull-witted princess! If I can't have him, then you can't have him too!"

"What are you saying? Cameron and I are just—"

Before she was able to finish her sentence, Licia got a sword. As she was about to thrust the sword into Eleanor's stomach, Cameron swiftly blocked the strike from Eleanor. The pain then penetrated to Cameron as he vomited blood and fell to the ground. Eleanor's tears were the last thing he saw.

"No!" Eleanor frantically fell to the ground. Her face full of helplessness.

Licia, stood frozen, as the sword dropped from her hands.

Cameron held the princess's face with eyes closed. "I never stopped loving you."

As soon as Cameron said his last words, he was out of breath.

The princess hugged him. "Cameron wake up! Please stay with me!"

"He's gone. Let him go," Licia responded.

"What have you done? Why couldn't you just leave us alone?"

"Cameron really loves you doesn't he? He even sacrificed his own life just to save you."

Before Eleanor was able to respond, Licia got the dagger from her pocket and stabbed her own heart.

"I deserve to die too, Princess Eleanor. I can't live a life filled with regrets." Licia smiled as her blood started dripping on the floor.

A few hours later...

(In the royal hall)

"That's what happened?" Mia asked.

"I didn't know that Licia would be there too," Eleanor answered.

Mia then told her that the royal doctor has informed her that Licia is confirmed to be dead, but as for Cameron he still wasn't sure about it.

"What does he mean? Can Cameron's life still be saved?"

"He's done everything he could. We'll just have to wait. If Cameron doesn't wake up in a week, then you know what that means..."

"We've lost mother and father. I can't afford to lose him too."

"Think about it, Eleanor. Why didn't he die when he fell from Inta sea cliff? But Jay and Albert did?"

"You expect me to know why?"

"It's because you can control water, am I right?"

The princess rolled her eyes. "What about it?"

"Since the blue gem is now in your heart, the water knows who you want to save. That's why Licia found Cameron floating on the shore."

"What makes you say that?"

Mia smiled. "The water told me, Eleanor."
