A show for the class

Alexis' POV

The weekend had come to an end as quickly as it had started and although I'd enjoyed it immensely and would have loved to relive it, it was time to get back to the real-life, where I fought my attraction to my hot yoga instructor, who I'd also discovered wasn't just a hottie, but one with brains and a compassionate heart for the poor and those in need. Now tell me, how was I supposed to still ignore this man when every fiber of my being screamed for me to let him have his way with me?

Luckily for me, Harper was still passed out and lost in her slumber by the time I woke up to prepare for my morning at the gym. In an attempt to escape the interrogation that would come from her, I hurriedly got about my day and left the house for the gym, skipping my dose of morning coffee in the process. Although it wasn't planned, I ended up arriving at the gym a few minutes before the class started. Deep down, I was happy with this. I knew I'd given Quinn the intuition that things might work out between us after that dinner date, but now, I wasn't ready to even consider that nor whatever the outcome would result to. I'd succeeded in convincing myself that morning that the last thing I needed in my life at the moment was a man and while Quinn might be an awesome and even a perfect partner, I needed to take things slow and figure out my life. For now, my main purpose was to get rid of my nightmares and panic attacks which were currently far gone and maybe focus on building a career.

Throughout the class that morning, I did my best to avoid his gaze while also trying not to ogle him in the gym shorts he had on with a gray wife beater, his usual outfit. But I wasn't really progressing with that as I caught myself more than once, tracing his numerous tattoos with my eyes, from across the room. I could feel his gaze on me for the entire class but I pretended as though I wasn't aware of how hard he was staring at me, desperately calling for my attention, but I was hell-bent on starving him of it. Just when I thought I was doing a great job of ignoring him, he decided to call me out.

"Miss Chapman, please come forward," he called out, his eyes glaring intently at me. I stood frozen in my position, my eyes wide in horror as I finally met his gaze.

What the hell do you think you are doing? I inwardly screamed, cringing from the tons of eyes now watching us.

Gulping, I slowly made my way to the front of the class where Quinn was standing, with everyone staring at us.

"Miss Chapman and I will demonstrate the Flying Warrior pose, thereafter, y'all will partner up and do it, so please, pay attention and watch us carefully as we show you,"

With that, he grabbed my hand and tugged me closer, until I was standing beside his yoga mat. With a hard glare at me, he fell to his knees before lying on the mat on his back, with his legs raised and knees slightly bent and his soles also bent in my direction.

"Move closer until your pelvis is in line with the soles of my feet," he instructed and I did just that, following his every word and hoping I could hasten it up and get out of the limelight he'd shone on me. "Good, now clasp your hands together and align yourself to get on top, with your pelvis placed directly on my soles. Don't be scared of falling, I'll hold onto your hands while you take a position but as soon as you're stable and you've found a balance, I'll stop holding you. Is that clear?" I nodded my hands in response, drawing in a deep breath before following his instructions and as he'd promised, he held onto me until I was ready to let go. "Now stretch your hands into a sideways position as though they're your wings," feeling very comfortable. I let go of his hands and did as he'd told me but I couldn't ignore the way his feet were directly pressed against my core.

The position felt weirdly intimate for what I should be doing with my yoga instructor and I didn't need a prophet to know the other women in the room thought the same way. While I was lost in my thoughts, I must have moved because the next thing I knew was his legs shook and a yelp flew out of my lips at the thought of falling flat on my face but Quinn got me.

"Hey, hey…" he called, reaching for my arms and I let him hold me. "Look at me, Alexis," his commanding yet soft caring voice sailed into my ears and my eyes met his deep blue orbs. "Don't be scared, I've got you," he murmured and I blinked, still lost in his eyes.

We stayed in that position for what seemed like an eternity but was only a few minutes before we separated and I gently climbed down, subconsciously lending him a hand to pull him up, like he needed it, but he rewarded me with a warm smile, grabbing onto it and rising to his feet. Using that medium, he wrapped his arm around my torso as soon as he was on his feet, pulling me beside him and clearly ignoring the eyes that were on us, but I couldn't blame him. He obviously didn't notice them glaring daggers at me, not when they made sweet faces at him just to steal his attention.

"Now, find a capable partner and recreate the pose," he instructed them.

"Can Alexis be my partner?" one of the women asked, but his arm around my torso tightened around me, as though he was claiming me.

"No, she's mine already,"

I didn't miss how possessive his words were, involuntarily sending a shiver down my spine but I gulped, meaning to pull away since we were done with the pose, but he wouldn't let me move an inch. The more I tried, the more he held on tightly to me. Realizing it was a futile attempt, I gave up and stood with him, simply staring at the floor to ignore all of the eyes glaring at me. Quinn on the other hand, kept watching the women and making corrections when necessary, while never leaving my side. At some point, he leaned down to whisper in my ear,

"Stay after the class,"

My first instincts were to make up an excuse to get away and I did just that but his words caught me off in a way I couldn't fight.

"I… I have…"

"please…" his words came out so soft and calm that I didn't have it in me to refuse.

"Umm, okay," I accepted without questioning him.

The class progressed with him instructing the women on how to get the pose right, while he purposely dragged me along with him to wherever he was going, just to make sure I wasn't out of his sight. Deep down, I had a feeling he didn't trust me to stay after class, and I also didn't trust myself to keep to my words. Hence, I couldn't even blame him for keeping me with him.

As soon as class was over, he dismissed all of the women, leaving room for no unnecessary questions, and thus, they had no excuse to flock around him. Somehow, I was inwardly satisfied by this.

"Have breakfast with me?" he asked, turning to me as soon as the studio was empty.

"It seems your new hubby is feeding me," I sassed back with a coy smile and he rewarded me with his signature smirk that had my knees weak.

"My hubby is everything about you, love," his fingers moved to my face, tucking a stray hair behind my ear, and letting his fingers linger on my cheeks, caressing me. Subconsciously, I leaned into his touch, with his eyes holding mine. "So…"

"I'll have breakfast with you," I murmured in a faint voice.

"Are you okay with the place across the street?"

"As long as they make mouth-watering meals,"

He chuckled at my response, grabbing my wrist and walking me to get my bag before leading me out of the studio, towards the cafe.
